Told me I was randomly selected to receive $7,000 and all i had to do is give them my bank account number and pay them $275. WHAT A DEAL! Give me a break.

Got a call from them as well, but as luck would have it my sisters BF who is tech/internet guru and while I was talking to the guy he was tracing the call. It came from a mobile number on the Verizon network. This sent red flags up immediatly. he asked if I had a bank account and if I wanted it sent to there.  I told him that I was uncomfortable giving that information out over the phone. He said hold on, he was going to get his supervisor.  The guy on the phone then started speaking arabic. He miscalculated again my sisters BF understands and speaks he translated the guys words into. "She's not buying it. She is not going to send any money to us this one is a @$$hole who do not trust me." another voice said "terminate the telephone before we get in trouble from the police." Then he said to me on the phone thanks for your time B!+(H. He hung up the phone.
So folks this is a scam

They said I won a grant for 7000 n I believed it because I filled out applications for one and I will like to get my money back $300

they told me i was selected because i won 7 thousand $ and they were going to send it to my bank account???

I got a call from number 970 002 and told me that I won the amount of 7000 and ask me as to where I want to receive the money and told HER to western union and gave me the number 202 6575552 and wondering why i won as i did not apply for any grants and lottery. immediately I search this number and found out the same comments from the others.

I received a call from 202-657-5552, told me I was to receive 7,000 and even gave me a confirm. no . When I called back, no answer.

I received a call from an unavailable number. The women told me I was selected to recieve a 7000 grant. I asked why and she said that the government gives random people grants for paying their bills on time. I told her that she could western union me the money and I didnt have a job. She then gave me a conformation number and to call 202-657-5552 (no answer). I felt it was a scam because if the government gives you anything it will be in the form of a check and it is trackable.

I just got off the phone with the girl, who is very definitely foreign. The government wouldn't have someone I barely understand contact me like this. I was suspicious the instant I answered. So I googled the number and found out I was absolutely right.

I received the same call..this is definitely a scam I was very disappointed.

This is bull [***] people shouldn't do this to people that really don't have any money and is trying there best to make it in this world people like u all need to be locked up and poor like some of this people that u all r trying to rip off

I received the same call, as soon as I started asking her questions she hung.....I hope no one fell for this Nothing IS FREE...

Just happend to me too.  I said to send to Western Union and of course he gave me the 202-657-5552 for the Federal Grant Bank.  What a waiste of all our time.

I got a call from 970-002, some foreign girl told me she's calling from the US Government grants department to award me 7K and i was randomly selected. She asked me if I wanted to do bank to bank transaction or receive money in cash. Of course i didn't believe this BS but kept up with it to see where she was going. I told her I wanted to receive cash so she gave me a phone number to call and a confirmation ID. I called the number 202-657-5552 and some man with very broken english answered the phone stuttering saying i've reached the US State Department. I told the man that the police is tracking them all and will arrest them all for fraud and all he said was sorry mam. Such a scam, I really hope people are not falling for this.

my wife is on the phone with them right now we told them we would send the money an that we where at the western union an that we needed the info an they gave us an name samuel something an to send it to india now i thought this was a grant from the USA why the f**** would we send india money to get money from our country something has to be done about this

I am 25 n had recently signed up for q pell grant...i though god answered my prayers when i got this call i am currently bein evicted n i barely see my kids cause i am workin two jobs to keep up with every bill...so i borrowed the money n even got a prepaid card for that hour transaction they promised.....scam....now i owe a friend n i am still in debt...more than ever now...thanks alot whoever yu are

I received the same call, saying they were from the US Treasury Department in WashingtonDC. First, I amretired Military with friends that work in DC. They dont hire people that speak broken English that sound like they are from India. Two, the Federal Gov does not just hand out free Grants to just anyone, you have to apply for the grants. When they asked for my bank account information I knew it was definately a scam. So I am sending both numbers, the one they called from and the one they told me to call to a friend of mine that is an FBI agent and let them track this crap down. There is no reason that these third world pieces of crap should be ripping off Americans like this. Homeland Secruity will also get the information cause I am sending it to them as well.

I got a call today from 1970002 saying that i have been selected to get $700 from the US Govenment and gave me a approval number dg149 and asked to call this number...after i did they said that i had to pay $280 which would be used for charity...i was on the net and browsed to this page and after reading the comment i disconnected the call...Really sad scams like dis are being tolerated in US

I just got a call. I was told the same thing, that I got $7000 grant from the government. I asked how is it possible, because I have never applied for one. They gave me the same phone number to call and an approval number. I knew it was a scam, so I searched for the phone number and I found this website.

They called my son, he was so excited. Luckily I felt it was a scam...what jerks!
