Auto call said was IRS trying to contact me.. Said they have been trying for a while now. (should have written down call back #), did a search of telephone number nothing found. Called the telephone number and some guy answered, didn't understand him and then he hung up on me. Wasn't the IRS... Scammers.. Why would the IRS call me anyway. They would mail out a letter first.

Same thing auto message stating FBI and to call back at this number.

Recorded message said they were the IRS and they were filing a lawsuit against me.  I was told to call back 202-657-6929.

I got the same thing just now, im like do what, any of you on fb and are you a veteran, i think i know where its coming from

Just got a phone call from Washington DC 202-657-6929 and was automated call stating it was IRS and they have a lawsuit filed against me. Funny thing is we just got this phone # last week, so I called the number back and some guy with thick accent answered. I asked him who he worked for and he said IRS, I told him that's great and to take my number of his calling list otherwise I would send the REAL IRS his way and he said "Ok, thank you for calling" and hung up. Dumb ass scammers.

this number called me & automated voice said it was from the IRS. Said I would be arrested within an hour. I said what who is this? John Arthur but had a thick accent I could not understand. Said to call him back. I did, and same guy answered. I told him I was retired and disabled and he said sorry, there's no lawsuit. What? It's a scam.

Got the same phone call. Caller stated that I had to wire $500 today or I would be arrested. Called them out on the scam and they got mad

Scam call claiming to be IRS. I've gotten several of these in the last week. I don't call them back, did about six months ago. Still waiting to be arrested from way back then. Here's a couple of other #'s they use.....360 930 6797 and 202 436 9598

 My sister said that we received a phone call from 202-657-6929 yesterday (10/5/2015) stating that the person was calling from the IRS.  The man said that a lawsuit had been filed against us.  Funny thing is that we just received that new phone number last week from SuddenLink and that both of us don't owe any money to the IRS.  Plus, the real IRS would send a letter first.  I also believe that this is part of a scam.  it's a shame that people are out there doing disgusting stuff like this!

Got the same call today you all have received previously.  Instantly knew it was a scam so did not call.  What is weird is that it isn't even tax season. Guess somebody wants to get early Christmas money.  To reiterate in case someone reading this thread didn't catch it above, THE IRS DOES NOT CONTACT YOU BY PHONE....THEY ALWAYS CONTACT YOU BY MAIL.

Calls originate in India and Pakistan.  They spoof local numbers.
