Just called here and were hung up on by the second ring.  Other sites say there's an Indian guy saying he's from the government, and has $8000 for them if they'll just give him their banking info.

    Reported to Nomorobo.

This number has called my cell phone for the past week.  When I finally answered (it was maybe an Indian gentleman) I asked him to please take me off his calling list, he proceeded to talk over me and asked if I had a criminal record.  I said what the heck kind of question is that, stop asking me personal questions, he proceeded to yell at me, and said he had my address and was sending the cops here.  Something needs to be done about this nut job.

Have received these calls for the last 2 days. Same exact thing, says he's from Washington Treasury and we were selected to receive $8000. The phone line is always very staticky and when I tell him that I can hardly hear him he hangs up.

Reporting these numbers in this forum doesn't help. How to stop them would be helpful. Any ideas on how to stop them ?

    US Treasury
Just received a call from a man stating that he was calling from the US Treasury Department.  He was calling to inform tthat the US Treasury was offering me ... then I stopped him.  I let him know that I was employeed by the US Treasury and worked in the Fraud Department and inquired for his name at which time the phone went dead.   I should have played along, especially since I do not work for the Treasury.  Just don't have time for games.

Cell phone - 202-666-2294.  LIne was full of static.

After getting 10 phone calls from this guy over the past 2 days, I finally answered it this time, and he asked to talk to Megan, and I said "this is her, but you need to stop calling me because I know you're scamming me and I'm not going to listen"
And he laughed and was like "How could you know that?" And I was like "There's this awesome thing called the internet, I googled your number, and it says you're just a big scam and you need to stop calling me"
And he continued to say that I needed to listen to what he had to say, and I said that I will not listen to what he has to say, and he kept responding saying that I needed to hear what he had to say.

    Finally I hung up.

Just got a call from this clown - said he has a grant for me - $8,400 - but I have to give him my PREPAID DEBIT CARD INFORMATION - 16 digits, expiration day and the 3 digit number on the back CVS NUMBER - if I give him that - he has full access against my will ..... well ... it would be my will if I was ignorant or stupid enough to give it to him.

When I call back - it says all circuits are busy ..... I want to end this - no telling how many people have given him information and he is ripping them off.

DNC list is obviously useless, your government on the job. I wonder how many fat paychecks are going to waste with this bogus agency.

The DNC List does work replies to Lou
We pay the police & we still have crime: "I wonder how many fat paychecks are going to waste with this bogus agency." Do you get the point? Criminals DO NOT obey the law, why would they honor the Do Not Call List? Honest business' honor the DNC List. If you are getting an illegal telemarketing call you can be 100% sure it's a scam. Got one? Hang up the phone. Do not argue with them. Do not call them back. Do not give them any information. Hang up.

Apparently these calls originate out of India, so whatever area code is listed is irrelevant, I get them from multiple state area codes. I know right away when I see 202, 212, 618,412, 518, 509, 305, 415, 321, 214, 386, 404, 201, 312 and on and on and on that it is just one of these a_s_sho_l-es, I don't answer and block the number.

This caller has called me 18 times today as well as 8 calls from a number that said UNKNOWN, I finally answered and they said they were calling from the US GOVT Department of Grants. I stopped him and said I had looked up the number and knew it was a scam and that I was going to call INTERPOL and give them their info. He said "This is the Dept of Prostitution and I understand you are working in pornography" I told him that he should be ashamed to treat people this way and that I would turn their number over to Interpol with a another complaint! Now I do I complain about phone scammers to Interpol cause these guys are offensive and annoying.

This number continues calling my sister in law.  I have been answering her phone in different accents each time.  I speak so loudly they can't even try to scam me.  The last time the "Indian" sounding man told me to "F" off.  I wish there was a way to track down these dirtbags.  Instead, I will drag them on with bogus info and fictitious personalities wasting all of our time.  Let's have a contest and see how long we can keep them on the phone and then tell them to suck it.  Personal challenge= 25 minutes.
