I Called back and was informed that line was not in service. They did not leave a message.

Scam. They called saying that they are from the government giving a once and a lifetime grant of $8400.00. They have you call a different number then they ask you to send money through western union to feed the poor. Be careful of these calls

This number called and trying to scam us

I received a call from the above number a was informed that $ 8400.00 was approved for me from the Fed and asked how the money to be transferred to me. I asked to transfer the money to my bank account. Then I was asked to provide the routing and account number of my bank. I asked for proof that she was working for Federal Government, she hangup.

when i asked to speak with her supervisor she told me i was stupid and hung up!

I have received numerous calls from this number saying that they want to send me $8,000, directly to my bank account. I was surveyed in my area and randomly selected to recieve from the federal goverment this grant that i would not have to pay back, but in order to do this they needed my account number and rounting number for my bank account. I told them no obviously, and asked to talk with supervisor at which point they would either hang up or try to convince me it was real. the person i would talk to was named Andrew and he spook extremely poor english. I have recieved calls about the same thing from three different numbers. all promising the same thing. I called my college as well as my local police and they said it was an absalute scam. They people had my phone number and address as well which was scary. IF they call report it to your local police.

Hi, I just got a phone call from this number... pretty much the same as everyone described.  It was a man telling me my name was chosen for a government grant because I paid my taxes on time (AS IF the gov would hand out money!)  I tried to keep the guy on the line as long as I could telling him I was getting my information and then pretended to talk to someone and ask if they had enough time to trace the call.  Then I told the guy I knew he was full of crap.  He tried to tell me that if I didn't want the money that wasn't his fault and he did work for the government.  I told him we had enough time to get his phone number run so we would see him later... I have learned the best I can do to this idiots is get them to waste their phone money and time. ..and maybe scare them just a bit.  I wish there was more to be done.  It seems wierd that since it is the same number for all of us they can't find this operation.  I suppose because it is in a foreign country.  If anyone has any success from contacting the police I would love to know about it.

I too just got this phone call. several times the tried calling me today and after the fourth time i answered. i asked why it couldnt be sent by check and the lady said for security reasons they couldnt send that kind of money to me via a check.

I to have been harassed by the same people. I tried blocking the calls and they call from another with the same area code. These people are going out of their way to provoke me and all I can do is change my #. I bet the Law could find these people if they tried but their too busy locking up their own local citizens for profit instead.

I just received this call as well.  I totally thought it was a spam at first and kept asking why I would even get it.  So the person said that I could speak with her supervisor.  I spoke with a guy name Brian and he spoke English perfectly well.  He explained everything and it seemed to be sorta of legit.  But to be sure, I transferred all the money from my account info I gave him to another account.  I tried calling the number he gave me but no one picked up.  After reading this site I am totally freaked out.  So I am currently shutting down my account info.  Is there anything else I should do?

I got a call from this number, same here, as the goverment would give me $8400...
I couldnt understand my address as he wanted to verify that, so I asked him to repeat it. Than I still couldnt get anything close to my address, so I told him I couldnt understand any world what he is saying, so he hanged up by "OMG"... :)
Unfortunately the bad news it is kind of impossible to catch these guys as probably they are using VOIP phone which could be hard to trace...
Anyhow, I hope someone will get these idiots behind walls.

good point Colin...perhaps the police could actually be of some help to people if they concentrated on issues like fraud, rape, murder, burglary... instead of spending so much time and effort locking up people who admitted to smoking pot once.  It is getting ridiculous.  There should be some kind of system in place to get these callers.  I'm tired of getting at least 2 fraudulent calls a day!

I would call your bank and ask if you could talk to someone who knew about fraud and they would know what to do.  Make sure you know what numbers they have and the bank person could tell you if there is any information they could get from that... just to be on the safe side...  good luck!

I am getting calls from this number with no message.  When I call back the number I get a message saying all circuits are busy.  I looked up this number on the internet and it appears to be a scam so that is why I am reporting it.

Omg so this dude called Tuesday and said I got a grant of 8,000 something I asked if it was legit he said the same thing then I told him i didnt have a bank acct he asked if I was even interested....I said nope he said ok have a nice day. Wednesday he calls again this time it was 10,000 $ grant..... He said I could use it for school... I told him to take that grant and take his ass to school because he needed to learn English if he was working for the gov.... I called him a moth&$&& fu$&@' and hung up.... He calls a few minutes later and starts cursing at me and said I was stupid and I'm a son of a bi'&0$ I called him that right bk and I told him I know it was a scam and I wasn't falling for it so to stop calling....Thursday he called again!!!!!! I didn't answer I called BBB and they couldn't trace the number the lady said. They have a system to where they can only make calls not receive them she said to just not answer....

Shut the acct down...otherwise they could overdraft u ....

Number just calles and i guess i was aaking the man too many questions so he hung up
