I received a call yesterday from 202 number. When they refused to answer I hung up and placed the number on my reject phone call list. I just received another call from 202-666-9770, stating I am lucky to have a grant issued by the government. I don't have to pay it back. I said, yes sure and hung up. Everyone is trying to scam now more than ever.

Just got a call from the "verification department in washington dc" saying the IRS was going to give me a grant of $5000 for paying my taxes to help offset the economy. He just wanted me to give him my bank card number and got mad when I said no. He said he can't force me to take $5000.

i just got a call from that number but I didn't answer it....my phone has a special ringtone for odd numbers. I wish I had answered it now. I'd love to hear how the American government wants to give me- a very proud Canadian- some money. 😀

I just received a call from thus number stating they were from the U.S. treasury.  I hung up and beloved the call.

I answered this call (two prior calls in two days from same number with no message) and a male stated that I had been chosen to receive a special $5000 refund from the government.  I requested him to send me the information by mail, and I hung up.

A scam claiming to be the goverment with a grant.
They proceed to get personal information in order to steal it.
Do not tell them anything.

Got the same call 6 times... finally answered it.  Was told $8,000 loyalty grant from US goverment.  I Just hung up.... if they wanted to give me something... send a notification in the mail.

202-666-9770 receive 5-6 calls a day

We have been getting these calls several times a day. When a man answers the phone, the caller hangs up! One call at 1:30 a.m. I answered and the man said he was calling about my computer. He wanted access. When I passed the phone over to my man, they hung up on him. Again! This has been going on several months now. Need a phone zapper for these calls.

I asked if they were calling from the US and they hung up. Scam!

I have received this call many times and have ignored them all. I looked the number up on the internet just to see what it is all about and I found out from all the messages that it is another hoax to get your personal information. Do not give hem the time of day,

That number has been calling my phone non stop but leaves no message. ..thanks everyone for the warning. .

I Just Got A Call From The Phone Number 202-666-9770 The Man Say he was From The IRS I Know That This is a Scam.i told him i Don't   Want to Talk too Him After That He was Mad said What and Hang up on Me He was Acting Nasty to Me.

I've been getting calls every day but no one is on the other side...maybe i hang up faster than they can get on the call.  SCAM....

Have gotten  a call from this number 2x already today and  2020001111. I answered and didn't say anything and they immediately hung up. Have gotten this call several times before stating a had won a grant to the US government.SCAM!!!!

my mother in law answered and gave them all of my info!!!! saying oooo 8,000 bucks for free........ nothing has happened yet but im reporting to my bank at least

Same here, I got 5 calls so far but did not picked up. Now that I know is a scam I will ignore it all together.

I have been getting calls from the above number several times different hours of the morning and night 3-4- and 7 AM and PM up to six calls per day and will leave blank messages on VM. Today I finally answered and asked and why are they calling me..some guy said cuss word and hung up..Who and where can I called to file harassment charges??..whoever it is also calls from 202 666 8770

I am in the Accounting business and  they called one of my clients from that number 202-666-9770, a restaurant, telling them that they were calling from the IRS, they know to referrer them  to me and when they attempted that, they hung up immediately

We have been continuously receiving calls from this number. The person at the other end asks for the bank account number. We ignored him so many times but they just keep calling. Finally we told them to stop calling us and that is when he used abusive language.
