Normal western union scam involving PayPal and and a shipping agency.

Called on ad I have placed on a website. Gave me the usual scam to send more money than I am asking and send the rest back to them. I have worked in baking for the past 4 years and KNOW this is a scam. Same name Joe Luke was used # 202-681-0188

So was kathiana the agent n were u suppose to be getting money transfered to you.

I had this same thing happen to me today. I posted an ad, and got a text that said they would PayPal the money to me and they would arrange for pick up after cash was in hand. Sarah Robinson is the name given at the end of the texts

Just got text on car advertised for sale in Salt Lake. Wanted me to set up PayPal account for her to send full price offer. Glad we checked here! Name was Sarah Robinson.

Texted me re; ad on kijiji.  Didn't mention Paypal, just wondering why I was selling.  Signed as Sarah Robinson

Sarah mine was a text message wanting to know why I was selling my vehicle after giving some information the PayPal came forward and I responded that I thought it was a scam is simple Google search reveal this page whoever this is may want to get a new phone number haha

listed a car on ksl, got a text from a 'wayne robinson' who wanted to buy only through paypal and pick up after. definitely a scam.

I had the same thing happen to as ANOTHER GIRL.....

I have a Truck for sale in Salt Lake City Utah. The number 202-681-0188 texted me and wanted to pay for the truck without seeing it via PayPal. Good thing I checked out the number. The person is now going by the name Wayne Fisher. He will text you back but not call you from that number.

Just got a text from KSL.COM, wanted to buy Mercedes sight unseen via PayPal.   I threatened an investigation and haven't heard back.   Name was Wayne Fisher

Standard PayPal scam.  I had a vehicle listed for sell with my text information.  

They ask if your (Make | Model | Price | Your location) is still for sale, then they say something to the effect that they are working offshore or across the country or are too busy and they want your verified PayPal information to send payment--as they are satisfied with the condition of the vehicle per the advertisement online that you posted.

I am selling a car on KSL.com classified. "Wayne" texted that he wanted to buy the car at my asking price using Paypal. After seeing these posts - the dialogue stopped there. Great site - thanks all! All I lost was some time - I wish there was a way to legally thump these dirt bags.

Tried selling a car online and received text from this number saying his name was Wayne Fisher.  Obviously not truly interested in car.  Continued contact and wanted paypal account information.  Per conversation, I concluded that he was not a native English speaker.

Received txt messages from this number in response to a car listing on ksl in salt lake city.  Name given was Wayne Fisher.

Just got a text from Wayne Fisher about a vehicle I was selling on ksl, who immediately wanted to send me money through pay-pal. I then proceeded to call a financial advisor for advice because I didn't know how to use paypal. They advised to proceed with caution. I then called a family member who said the same thing. Then I had a feeling I should look up where the area code came from and found this website! Thank you so much! I definitely dodged a bullet!!!!!

i too was selling a car on KSL. the day after i posted it, i got a text from this number saying that Wayne Fisher wanted to by my car without seeing it via paypal. i gave him my paypal info, and then i got a message in my spam inbox saying that mr fisher's transaction is totally ligit and to pay him 600 dollors through a western union money order for his agent to come to utah to pick up the car. He told me that he was located in MO, and didn't explain anything other than that.
THANK GOD i found this before i went through with it. i sent him a nasty message and i havent heard back from him yet.
BUT, it looks like this piece of $#!! is trying to scam people constantly, so be careful...

Forward the bogus email to PayPal and go to www.ic3.gov to file a complaint.  Include the email with full headers and the number you received the text messages from.
