Said the IRS was filing suit against me???  Must be some type of scam.

Automated message stating the IRS was suing me.

Automated call claiming its a "final notice" about a "lawsuit against me" from "IRS". This is  A SCAM I read about in AARP magazine. Don't fall for it,  IRS always contacts you by mail, never by telephone.  

I received a call from 239-368-2392 (Gonzalez Z). A recording said the IRS was filing a lawsuit and to call this number immediately 202-684-3502.

I got a call around 9:40 this morning saying the IRS was about to file a lawsuit against me and to call this number.   They called me from 446-452-3632 and told me to call this number.  Well, I happen to have a real IRS contact number for cases being audited and pending legal action.   I called over there just to be sure as I had a computer problem with the IRS years ago and all my years are fine.   So this number is a scam!  

They said that it was the IRS in the phone message from number 1-239-968-2642. and told me to call 202-684-3502. The message stated that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and this was considered my last warning. Did not mention my name in the message First time getting message, so it could call anyone without a name on message. I called the real IRS.

Just got same message about the IRS from 885-293-8744.....SCAM!

I just laughed when I listened to the voicemail saying to call 202-684-3502.  The IRS wouldn't be calling on the phone to tell us that they are suing us.  When I tried to look up the number the "IRS" called from, 825-893-8744, on white pages.com it says the area code is invalid!  When I did a further search for area code 825, it's in Alberta, Canada!  How would someone in Canada know the IRS is filing a lawsuit?!?!?!

received call on Dec 9th from 855-693-8244 went to voice mail  was claiming to be IRS final notice before case. the message instructed me to call 202-684-3502 so I Google that number and I see I am not alone on this issue.

Received a call from 815-793-8144. A message was left regarding a final notice of an IRS lawsuit against me and to call 202-684-3502. Due to Google search results on the call back number taking no action as it appears to a scam.

I have received this phone call today and I called back thinking I'm going to tell them to quit calling. The person that answered me had a heavy middle east accent and told me he is officer Peter Williams with a badge ID # HD1309 and told me that a law suit has been filed against me. When I have asked him how much do I owe he gave me an amount little less than $4000 and once I have sarcastically asked him if he wants my credit card number he passed me to his "supervisor".
What got me confused is that they knew my address, he used technical words, he said that the payment wouldn't be done over the phone but on EFTPS site. He also told me to hire a criminal lawyer because an arrest warrant is been issued and some formal officers will show up to my door within an hour...I'm confused...If they didn't want money what are they after? Just harassing? If anyone knows more please say something... Thanks

Same number called me today. About an IRS lawsuit.

No you are not alone. I got a called today.

Nobody came to arrest me as he told me...ha..ha. I did file a complaint @ TIGTA, letting them know what was happening. It just really ruined my whole evening :(

What was the number? And  they can get your address from anywhere.

Saying that they are the IRS, and they are suing me.

This seems, by all appearances, to be an old scam.  But it also appears to have popped up with a scammer using a new number only a little over 12 hours ago.

It might be helpful if people reporting this number give some indication of their phone number's area code, without giving any clue to your exact location, real name, street address, or email address, for your own privacy.  JUST an area code, or if not that, a state, or even just a region of the country would be helpful.

At least we might be able to determine how they are targeting their victims.

I got a call from 202-684-3502 saying the IRS has a law suit against me. THIS IS A SCAM They also told me to call 202-241-0240 When they called back I told them I knew it was a scam and to stop calling

I just got the call from 202 684 3502 saying I was being sued by the IRS.  Seems others have received this call as well.
