Total scam.  Ignore.  Block the calls. Sounds like a debt scamming operation.  They ID themselves as "Pretrial Services" which is debt scammer double-talk,  for debt collector.  If you were the subject of a criminal investigation, you'd hear about it form law enforcement, not from some scummy debt collector.  This is just an attempt to scare you into paying them something.   Being in ordinary civil debt is not a crime and you can't be arrested for it.

Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

    1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
    2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
    3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  DIME  until the debt is validated.

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.

    If they are bothering you,

    Report them:

    http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.  If you can find them.

Received a call today about an accusation on me. Stating that I would have to call back today to get this resolved. No name of company, just a call back number with a reference number of 104813.

I received a phone call and they left a voice mail recording regarding a debt with a reference number. I called the number back and it was someone with a identifiable African American sounding voice and he identified himself as (something) (i think john or sam) Wilson. He simply said "this is so and so Wilson" and didn't answer with any greeting that sounded like they belonged to a company, no phone etiquette that a professional company would be sure to answer with. I have a good credit report and by the way he answered the phone I knew it was a scam. I hung up. All searches on this has shown he's making a lot of phone calls like this the last couple of days. BE WARE.

I received a phone call from 2026974457 and they left a message saying that I needed to resolve this with the Plaintiff before they come after me. I work for the DA so I KNOW this is a scam!!!!!! I am going to call them back just to mess with them. There is nothing these jerkwads can do anyway. So many people get scared into paying. I know of a lady who paid 1300.00 to one of these companies. She has borrowed from a payday loan company and when she decided to call and talk to the payday loan company that she thought she was paying back, they never received a dime of the money she had paid!!!!! These guys are thieves!!!!!

...so, this guy calls me and says I have to resolve a problem with a case number #202117177423, or else I'll be arrested at work and that I need to give him my SSN now. You kidding me? Don't fall for this scam.

I just received a call also from the same number 202-697-4457, shows up on my caller id as a Washington D.C. number the guy told me i had 2 accounts that they needed to be cleared up, had a previous address my last 4 of my SSN and threaten that they would come to my job or my home also. Something about a loan done online, in which i never have done before, I kept asking him who it was for and he wouldn't give me any information, just said we will proceed and see you in court. The reason I know its a SCAM, why would someone from Washington D.C. be calling me to settle a dispute that was once for 765.00, but now 1,765 since i have only made two payments toward it. Google the number and I ended up here.

I received a message from this 202-697-4457 number out of Washington DC stating they were "Pretrial Services" and that I have 2 accusations against me. I had to call back 3 x as I kept getting a busy signal. When I finally got through, I was put on hold for almost 5 minutes while having to listen to some God awful music somewhere right off a bad Hollywood B movie soundtrack. Should have known it was a scam then. The guy told me I had an outstanding payday loan debt of $1875 from 2011 and said I had 3 payment options to settle up immediately or be faced with legal action. I told him "have at it, as I know nothing of this debt." He said ok and hung up. What a crackerjack !!!!!

I received a call from this number 202-697-4457 today and they were forcing me to pay $650 for a loan they claimed I made back in January 2012. I don't remember any loan I made so I told him I am not stupid and that I will check with the bank and check with my lawyer first before you get a single cent from me. The guy said I had to make the payment right away before I check with the bank so then I realized it was fraud because he could not wait and that If I won't make the payment today they're going to bring this court. but still I checked my bank and the banker told me it was fraud and that she herself received a call from the same number and the call was something to do with IRS. Shame on them! People are working hard to earn money and there they are trying to get money that easy from us by doing all these fraudulent things. God is watching you people.

Same thing happened to me today, he was forcing me to pay before I go to the bank because he knows I will find out the whole thing was fraud. Funny thing was, the banker got a call from this number and her case was something to do with IRS

Just the name "Pretrial Services" should throw a flag.
Of course they want you to "make the payment right away before (you) check with the bank" because it was 3rd rate scam collections and know as soon as you speak to your bank their "gig" is up. They buy a list with peoples partial or all their info (on paper, database transfer, or simple thumb drive) and start calling to get their payoff.
These folks are the scum of the earth. They are criminals.

I got the same call!  They left a recorded message and when I called back i got an African American sounding gentleman who said that they had 2 charges pending against me.  1 was for the "intent to defraud" due to the amount.  He said it was for a payday loan I took out from Titan Group LLC in 2011 which went into collections in 2012.  When I asked for some sort of verification of this debt, he claimed I should look up my email from 7/14/2011 and I'd see the original contract but that he didn't have that information.  He claimed that this needed to be taken care of and that he'd put it on "hold" for 24 hours at which time if i didn't contact them back, they'd consider it a dispute or refusal to pay.  Never heard of this company until I googled the phone number and ended up here.  Thanks for the information.

Total scam.  Fraud is a crime, and if you were a suspect in any sort of fraud crime you'd hear about it from law enforcement, not some scummy debt collector.

I got a voice mail from this number and from 515-612-7969, both Pretrial Services.  They are a scam masquerading as debt collectors in order to be exempt from the Do Not Call Registry.  I reported them on the Do Not Call website: https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

More people should file complaints and maybe the FTC will investigate them.
