I got a call from this number as well. So glad to see that other people have posted and reported this on the web. It gave our family a scare intially, but after much thinking it sounded like a fraud. I decided to Google and it saw that it truly is a fraud.

Caller  "Officer Brandon Taylor from State Investigative Department". I picked up as he was leaving a message and when I told him not to call here anymore and take me off his list he again said" I am with the State Investigative Department" I told
him again not to call and he said "what the F..K did I not want him calling from the State Investigative Department ". I told him I would report this and hung up.

Just wanted to add my name to the evident growing list of people called by this number. Stated that he was an officer from "The National Bureau of Crime & Investions Dept" & that I was "in breach of contract with IRS under code 941c" regarding non-payment of taxes from FY 2010 & 2011.

Received voicemail on my home phone from (202)-697-9018 saying "I am an Investigator Officer, my name is Jack Green." Somewhere from bureau of Investigation or something and there is a legal case aganist me. I called up that number up and asked what kind of legal case, the person had an accent (suspicious right there) and that I owe tax money from 2010 and 2011 and if I pay now something like 3800 then I wont stand in front of judge and have penalty of 40,000. After I asked them to send me an email with all the details of the case aganist me, they said I was given 3 notice, time is up and I have to go to court and hung up. Called back again after a while, they said a different amount of 4000 I owe as taxes and if I pay 1500 now it will all be settled. I was curious and said where do I pay, they wont take check, credit card or cash but to go to a  money transfer agent and transfer the money. And then that was the end of that.

I got a call from 202-622-5000.  Someone with a middle eastern accent left a message that I could hardly understand......something about being criminally investigated and if I didn't call 202-697-9018 back I would be in serious trouble.  Get real!!!!!

So I keep getting calls from them so now I have decided to harass them the same way they do me. I call and just start pressing buttons and it really annoys him, especially "Maxwell", who ever that is, which I'm sure no matter who answers, he will say he is Max. Anyway, they have my number set up to where I get a busy signal when I call them, so I called them blocked and we got into a button pressing war. Before that though, he asked me for my name and home phone # which I of course didn't give it to him. So yeah, I'd recommend anyone being harassed to do it! It's lots of fun, especially with all your co-workers around listening to them get really pissed off. It's fun. Giving them a taste of how much they annoy me!

I also received a call from this number only it was for my daughter and said they were investigating her and if she didn't call back she as she has law suit. I was scared so I goggled it and found this website Thank Goodness

got the same message from a jack green, who happened to have such a thick accent that he was hard to understand. A relative who works for law enforcement said there are a lot of scams going around and to report it to the local police on their local department phone number and on a FBI website.

I got a call from 202-6979018 from Officer Brad Ding.... he had certain English accent. He was reading a script 'that I have a lawsuit against me blah blah blah and need me to contact him back".
A month ago I also get the same 1-888-225-4660 from IRS Collection Dept.... also same message, that I owe '$X" for back taxes. I wish someone will investigate this bad peoples!

I got call from this number and Officer Jack Taylor from state investigation department, he has arrest warrant against my wife and I have to pay IRS tax due for 2011 and 2012. I told him and I have to talk first with my lawyer and he got annoyed by it, I knew it was fraud and as soon as I started arguing with him, he hung up on me.

Bogus lawsuit claims

Have gotten calls from this number-an "investigator" with some federal department claiming there is a suit against me ( a Motion) and I have not responded to it.  I told him to mail the Motion to me and he said I have not responded so I said mail it to me again.  He became nasty and rude.  these calls could really scare someone and it is not a joke in my opinion.  To get a call from an investigator from Washington DC.  How do we get these awful calls to stop for once and for all?

Today I received a call from Tel: # 202-697-9018 and the person said that he is officer John Maxwell Sounded like Joan Marsh) informing me that a Legal case has been filed against me and that my name and ID is under investigation. If I do not call immediately, I will be liable for the consequenses .

Please do not pick up phone from this number. These people are fraud. They will try to verify all the information with you. But some how I manage to figure out that they are wrong. At the end of call they started all F.. word. They are telling that IRS has done lawsuit against you for not filing 941C in year 2010 & 2011. If you are paying your CPA to do tax written, how can they forget for two years only? CPA are not smart enough to ruin their business. Man at 202-697-9018 get in real world & earn money in nicer way.

Fraud.

I got a call from this number telling me that I would go to jail if I didn't reply. I called back and they used completely wrong info and tried to have me verify. They said Ohio and I don't live any where near Ohio. And then when I said they got my name wrong, he got really defensive saying that they were getting it from an old database. Said his name was Scott Anderson.  He had a really thick accent. And when I was saying that I would call the police if this was fraud, he was like do it! And then he got super rude telling me to have fun in jail. I had sooo much fun talking to him. Completely fraud!!!

same as the ones posted but I keep calling them and harassing them see how they like it  cant understand why the telephone co. does not shut them down amazing how they say they cant do anything about it. Gives ethnicity a bad name

Complete fraud.  They called us too.

I received similar call today (6/23/2014) 3 times. The guy calls himself as officer Scott Anderson from State Investigation dept. He mentioned that I owe both Federal and State tax. He passes the phone to another guy who seems to have an Indian accent. When I pressured him, he tried to scare me that a cop will be at my door in an hour to arrest me. I told him go ahead and he hanged up. This is a Scam. I am going to block this number (202-697-9018)
