A person made a call stating i was approved for a federal grant of 10,002 i was happy because i remembered two years ago i had applied for a grant for education, so i slipped up an gave my account number, the person then told me that i have to pay a sum of 180 dollars inorder to go forward in wiring the money, i became suspicious an call 311 which gave me a number to call 1800-447-8477 which i did they said that no grants are issued in my name an i should write this reference # 166-298-268 i then call back the person which answered saying hello you have reached the federal grant department ..i tild him i made a error with the account information he immediately changed it ..he also aked if i git the green dot money pack card to go ahead an make the payment so the money can be released

received a call from this number saying i had won a loan for 10,200 however  i must be able to wire 180$ for processing fees and the likes. Felt it was bogus to begin with, so i googled this website which confirmed my suspicion.

I just received a phone call stating that I was approved for a grant of the sum of 10,200 dollars. Like everyone else they asked for my account information. Asked for money of the sum of a 180 Dallas for processing fees. I told them there was no way I was going to send them money for money that was granted to me. That makes no sense.

They called me with the same bogus crap! Said his name was william but sounded like "Abdullah" from a B.C. or A.D. time! Get a life immigrants. They also have women working for them.

Yes, this is definitely a scam.  They will not send you any money, but will be glad to take it!

Yes the same thing that I won a grant. They wanted my bank info to wire the the funds. I gave to them only becaue I will be closing that account Monday. Just to see if any funds were sent. I fell only because of the area code 202 697 begining. I have done some work with Department of Tres. looked and sounded real however it's a scam Im sure.

A young man called me from 2026979074 and stated I had a federal grant in the sum of 10,200 dollars and I needed to make a one time payment of 180 to receive this money so I Google the number and it turned out to be a scam!!!

Same as the above when I called back she got smart then told me not to believe what I'm reading

Got the $10,200 grant call from 202 738 1226 Brittany. Had to get the PayPal GreenDot card and fund it $180. Then was told via many phone calls back and forth that the Dept. of State required a $700 in insurance against the wire transfer. I said forget it and after two more calls I was given the number for the Dept. of State 202 697 9074 to verify. Ha, ha, no answer.
Pure scam.

Man it sounded fishy in the first place, some Indian dude was on the phone tell ing me the procedure; first step bank account confirmation and second step to confirm the transition. To be honest i fell for the first stage, but not the second stage when they asked me to pay 270 dollars for the transition fee......i was really going to use that 9000 dollars for college, till the transition fee got to me
