Received an anonymous phone call from this number saying that unless I called them the cops would be at my door to arrest me. They didn't say who they were or what they were for, and as far as I can tell there is absolutely no reason I should receive a phone call like this. It sounded like a scripted phone call.

It's a scare tactic.  They try to make you panic so you pay rather than get arrested.  Nobody will be coming for you.  If you were to get arrested, you won't be forwarned.  Plus, assuming it's for a "collection on a debt" excuse, you can't be arrested for that.

Got the same exact call.. I view it as a threat. If I don't return the call /--" the cops will be at my door".
Who goes after these guys?

I too got this message and have been getting them for the past couple of years from different numbers.  I have reported them but nothing seems to happen.  They appear to somehow get the ability to use a number that looks like they are calling from Washington DC but they have a very thick indian or middle eastern accent.  The message is often not complete and doesn't include a phone number to call.  I just block them.

Just got a call threatening me that a cop would be at my door. They wanted me to verify my first and last name. Told them you called me you should have that info. He said he needed it to verify that he was talking to the right person. I asked him for the person he was calling for and he said I had to give him that info. I don't intimidate very easily so I told him he could threaten me all he wanted but I wasn't giving him my info. Cops are on the way with donuts. Yummy. I'm hungry.

These jerks called me as well and I was a bit scared. They threatened me with the same police action.They said they were the IRS and I had to pay!!! They were accusing me of tax fraud. I was upset and hung up!! After I calmed down and talked to a friend we decided to get even. So I called the number back and they answered. I asked them random questions and it just pissed them off! they hung up !!! So I called back! and asked why they hung up and the man with the middle eastern accent said because I was abusing him !! I laughed and told him what a piece of crap he was ! I called back several times and just messed with them.. " Can you hear me now" they were so pissed off they started cussing at me and saying vulgar things its was so awesome  to piss them off ! I felt almost vindicated !!! Now when I call the number it just rings busy :( damn I wanted to "chat" more !!! :)

Threatened me with cops at my door...

I received the same kind of call with a different call back from the robo caller with a 9375623681 readable voice message. this is an at&t land line out of ohio. I contacted at&t and they disabled the number.
the 202 6575512 number for me to call is a Verizon wireless out of d.c. so I contacted Verizon wireless and they told me they would shut off the phone.
I have contacted every government agency, local police and even called these jerks back but see they have so many numbers. I am on a mission to close down at least one wireless and one robo caller a day. shame on at&t and Verizon for taking foreign money for telephone lines to rob u.s. citizens.
please call the phone companies and report the number that contacts you. and.....do not just let them do a call block. that is not enough. there is going to be a victim you and I can save by working together as private citizens. and, if they call back just tell them you work for the irs and are married to a police officer who will take the phone from you right now.....when I did this they took me off their list and will not accept my calls!!

My 80 year old mother lives with me and uses this phone.  I told this person twice to stop calling and scaring my mother.  They keep saying that cops will be at my door.  This person is extremely rude and hangs up both times I called him back to tell him to stop calling that my number  

I just received a call from this number, I didn't recognize the number so I did not answer.  A message was left that if I didin't call back that the only thing they could do it wish me a happy life and that the cops would be on my door step.  WHAT A FRAUD....

I received a call they threaten to have the police at my door for what.I called the Number back I didn't understand anything he was saying.

I just got a call from them and they stated that they are going to ruin my life and my family....

And they have my Name... I called back and gave a new name and he yelled at me for wasting his time and stated that he knew it was me calling back. I asked why he was calling me and why the police were being sent. he stated he would tell me once he gained all information that he needed. I asked to speak to a sup, he stated no. I asked why he said his sup does not speak to people........ I ask well what does he speak to ( i wont share what I said as it might offend nice people) He stated that he was going to ruin my like and My family. I am calling the atterny

I just received this call....I'm emailing the CT attorney general with this information.  "Tis the season for scammers trying to prey on people to get financial information.

Have been getting the same threatening calls for the last 5 years stating that if I or my attorney did not call them at 202-697-9183 my state law enforcement agency would come to my door and arrest me. I pretended to be an attorney and it caught them totally offguard and they hung up(Indian accent). I call back and a lady(American speaking) answered and ask why I kept calling and harassing her. I told her I was not harassing her but returning a call from this number, she hung up. I reversed looked up this number and it showed up as a Skype number from Hyattsville Maryland.

Got the same call from 2 different numbers in the last 24 hours. I called both numbers back and pretended to be my own attorney and they hung up quickly.

I got the same call about getting locked up or having cops at my front door , i know its a scam just want it to stop..the # is 202-697-9183

Nobody.  They are located in either India or Pakistan.  Call blocker is your best bet.

Invest in a call blocker.  The callers are hard core Indian or Pakistani scammer/extortionists and as such ignore all US law.  They will not stop calling.  Many of these calls are not random.  They have some financial information and some personal information.  They pick on women, single mothers, the elderly and members of the immigrant community.
