IRS tax scam. I didn't answer. A person with a foreign accent left a voice message claiming there was a warrant for my arrest because of some IRS issue and I should call him back immediately to resolve it. Yeah, right...

I had same call 15 minutes ago, same foreign accent and some issue.  Weird they know my last name but wrong first.  Is this a scam?

Same thing, claim tax evasion , yeah right.

I got the same call few minutes ago . The lady had huge accent - I was barely able to understand what she was saying

Same call five minutes ago. I couldn't understand the woman. She said something about a tax lien and I'm going to be arrested. I got a call a few days ago from a similar number and the man was very agressive and told me he is sending cops to my house. SCAM.

I didn't answer and instead received a recording about a lawsuit application for a tax evasion case and if I don't call back then a warrant would be issued for my arrest.  I wish there was legal action that could be taken against these scammers!

Got same recorded message now.

I got a voice mail saying there was an arrest warrant for me last night and had two options, either go to jail , and fight it in the courtd, or go quickly to the bank, and NOT TELL ANY THIRD PARTY like the cops about this matter, and make the payment ASAP Go to hell [***]!!  I report it to the cops

Got a voicemail claiming I had to return the call or there would be a warrant for my arrest.

I also got the exact same call from a heavily accented woman who called herself Rachel and said that she was from the IRS and that there was a lawsuit application filed against my name for tax evasion and that if payment wasn't made there would be a warrant out for my arrest.  PREPOSTEROUS!  I knew it was a scam and reported it to this govermental website:

I advise everyone who experiences this type of fraudulent harassment to report it so the government can shut these lowlifes  down.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

this, "Rachel" from the IRS is a computer voice used to phish for information, scantronics I tell ya!

some  are landlines...many  are  cell phones...some  are  spoofed  and  linked  to  offshore foreign call centers  /  countries !!!!
we've  traced  back  most  of  these  numbers  to  offshore  foreign    call centers mostly  in   INDIA /  THAILAND / AFRICA  /  JAMAICA  ETC....

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  fake  emails and  scams  after  posting  something  on   craigslist   (  old  scam  )  ...... collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  calling  on  behalf  of  a  humane  society..... $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money.........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

This number rang at 5:30am local time and hung up with no message.  202 area code was a give-away to ignore the call, as we have already received a few of these tax scam calls.  Immediately added it to our call blocker...

Wireless Call ID first red flag....Women with formal British Accent  second red flag.....that has a lot of static on the line.Third red flag.....  Says that someone has fraudulently turned in out tax return and that we would be arrested if we do not call. Fourth red flag.......

Exact same crap on the voicemail - didn't call back.

I also got the same call on 4/14/15...scam

Just received a call from the above number. Sounded like a recorded message, woman had an English accent. Message said I was wanted for Tax Invasion and I needed to call this number back or an arrest warrant would be issued for me.
