Three calls on same day from WAshington DC area code - 202-697-9755............First call, a man with Indian/Nigerian accent called and left a message that my son was in trouble with IRS. Then the next two calls were from a lady who left a message and said we had IRS issues............these calls were at 11:03 a.m. and 12:27 p.m. and 3:19 p.m. Scam calls....get a life, scammers!!!!

just got a message from this number saying they were IRS and that they had a law suit against me and I should call Betty Smith asap to stop the legal action. Jamacian accent.

they called Jan 30,2015 saying they were the IRS and there is a law suit against me and should call Kelly Smith.  This is a Scam

Got the same exact message from Kelly Smith.  This is a Scam.

Received the same message from "Kelly Smith from IRS Tax and Audit Dept."  Needs to talk with us regarding a lawsuit that has been filed against us.  Also threatened, "Give me an urgent call back or we will go ahead with the legal charges."  Obvious scam.

Received the same message as Barb- same exact message.  I wish there was something we could do to these people.

I also received a message from the "IRS" sayinig I was named in a lawsuit. I will call the IRS today and report this fraud.

There is a widespread IRS or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both Canadian and USA residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Got the same call from a lady calling herself Kelly Smith. Called back and asked specifically for her and was told she was on another line. I told them I would wait, they said it would take too long and again I said I would wait. They hung up on me. Called back and got a foreign gentlemen saying he was the director of that department and that Ms. Smith was too busy, when I asked which department he worked for he claimed for IRS and when questioned further started to cuss at me. I then threatened him with legal action if he dared to call my number again. He probably hung up while I was threatening him with legal action.

The same happened to me.  Two calls today from supposedly the IRS to call Kelly Smith due to a lawsuit against me.  To call her to drop charges.  When you call anonymously no one answers.

Kelly Smith has been calling us re IRS fraud and lawsuits against us for two days now............very irritating.....get a life, Kelly Smith...........seiors, do not get fooled with such calls!

They are out to get senior citizens who may respond to these guys........BEWARE!

If IRS wants to audit you, they will contact you through a letter.....not thru these fradulent phony phone calls.

This is a SCAM do not give them any information.

They all had foreign accents, and they just keep calling.
They were very rude, cussing and claiming to be the IRS.
Report them to your state fraud department as well.

How do I get them to stop calling me and threating me.

Invest in a call blocker---one which can be programmed to block numbers from multiple area codes.

Two days in a row I get the IRS call from Kelly Smith - very threatening! I guess I should not have told her yesterday to go do something to herself that is physiologically impossible. Would sure like to meet these jerks in a dark alley!

They also called me 2 times today, as well as last week. Don't these people have anything better to do?

I have been getting these calls for 2 days.  When I asked were the beep for the recorded line is he hung up.  I called back and ask for his Irs badge number.  He said what.  I wish they would get a life.

So or it was a supposed irs agent calling using a verizion number.
