i got a call too! freaked me out when i saw it was from Dc so i didnt answer it.

And now I guess it's my turn.  Stop calling me!!!!   Jerks.

I called it back cuz they irk me when they just hang up and it said the number is no longer in service. How is that possible when they JUST called me from that number? I'll be reporting them too.

I called them back and their mailbox is full. I'll be reporting this number also.

Well took care of this one and a few more, did a Verizon web page check, put a BLOCK CALL on 5 of the most frequent [***] callers and this one 202-719-0493 now they can go stick it up there ass.

Just another political ad phone call about Obama-care. Very annoying, calls several times a day. And Gary, thanks for the paranoia update: "they can listen to you thru your phone....even when its off.." That made me laugh xD

Actually they can listen to your conversation thru the phone even when it's not off hook.  This was done back in the cold war times using a legacy analog telephone that has a ringer that uses a magnet and a clapper (the peice of metal between the bells that rings the bells).  Talk path or side tone that allows voice communication uses approximately -48VDC, however ring voltage is low current AC up to 110V.  If you send a trickle voltage of AC to get the clapper to start vibrating without ringing the bell this vibration along with the magnet in the bell could be used as a microphone and viola with a recorder or butsett (telephone technicians phone on their belt) you could record or hear a conversation taking place near the phone though it is badly distorted.

A really rude hateful almost terrorist-like message came from this number.

Got a call from 202-719-0493 , Washington D.C. Wanted to let me know Barack Obama's real name is Barry (???) and he's a deeply embedded traitor, serving unconstitutionally. Ugh. So ridiculous and offensive. Easily proven false: http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/birthers/occidental.asp Added this # to my blocked call list. Amazing that people spend the time and money on these calls, and even more amazing that stupid people believe it to be true.

A mofo was saying that we should repeal Obama because he's an illegal alien since he repealed his citizenship by noting his religion as "islam" in a form when he was in school in Indonesia!  So, this piece of grabage isn't only a spammer, but he's making up laws that don't exist but will most likely start sneaking in to this nation when we have more mofos like him.

I just recieved a call, you can call 1-877-705-6767 to be put on the Do not Call List. you have to listen to their B.S. about the Conservative Majority. What a bunch of garbage. They must be very scared of going up agains President Obama if they have to tell lies.

Unwanted political solicitation from Republicans

Message said Obama is using an assumed name and is not a US citizen and would I donate $3 to mount an ad campaign.  What vitriol!  Hope they somehow find out this is exactly why I am NO LONGER a Republican.  When I called the number they gave me to remove my number from their call list, that is not an option - btw that number is 877-705-6767.  Said I can WRITE to Conservative Majority at 1007 Cameron, Alexandria, VA  22314.  Actually, I think I WILL write and tell them about their backfire...I think I will now donate money to the Obama campaign (I'm an unaffiliated voter).
