Got a message saying they are pursuing a law suit against me, i hung up.

Computer generated call." This is a final warning from IRS, must call this number immediately"  ??  what is this?????

Got a call stating they were IRS and going to be sued soon of I did not call back. Original call came from631-581-9212.

Same as the other posters......a very poorly designed computer program saying the IRS was pursuing a lawsuit against me. I know the IRS isn't that advanced but I am guessing they could put together a better automated message. Unfortunately I know some people will fall for this.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.

RS does not file lawsuits.  Tax disputes are civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes.   If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and all contacts are initiated by US mail.

Same as above.  An old-style "female computer voice" begins to say this is your final notice from the IRS Internal Revenue Service to which they are going to sue me - coming from 210-824-0171 identified as 'TRANE", but instructing me to call 202-738-1947.  Total scam.

Same thing happened to me, claimed to be an IRS lawsuit ... when I called the 202 number, it just rang and rang. Has anyone experienced mysterious charges on their bill because of this? I just want to know what to look out for. Same thing happened to me a year ago, but it was a number in Australia and I was charged over $25 on my cell bill because of it.

The same thing happened just five minutes ago. Did not pick up or call back. Thanks to all for the warning.

Received the same message on my phone. Called the IRS itself and reported  this incident. It's a total scam, so I reported it to TIGTA ( Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration). Website www.tigta.gov 

Got the same call today.  202-738-1947 caller called, via recording, about the IRS filing suite...last and final call.

Received an automated phone call from 630-690-2396 saying it was IRS. I needed to call 202-738-1947 immediately or IRS would file a lawsuit. I knew that the IRS does not make these type of phone calls, but I returned the call just to see what would happen.  When I first called 202-738-1947 there was no answer.  Called today a little earlier and the call was picked up (after much clicking) with the person answering as IRS.  The 630-690-02396 number has been disconnected.  What a surprise!

Got the message today also from the number below.  VM went on to say that IRS was going to sue.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Got a call from this number, it came up on the ID as call from a payphone said it was the IRS filling a law suit.

I live in Maryland.  Got the scam call today.  And got a previous one last week saying I need to call an 855 number.  THE IRS NEVER CALLS ANYONE!  THIS IS ALWAYS A SCAM, DON'T FALL FOR IT!

I just received a message and did call. As soon as I told him I didn't believe it that it was a scam he said "hold on" and then disappeared.
