- MJG replies to Elayne Sternheim| 1 replyNothing to fear - it is just a thief (probably in India) trying to steal money from you. The IRS mails letters if there is a problem. Ignore the call.

- MacGot THREE calls from these pigs within two hours. "IRS" scammers. [Blocked!]
I'm of the frame of mind, they need to know my name before I say anything more than "Hello".- Caller: IRS, supposedly
- Sandra replies to MJGSame here I kept getting calls from 202-738-4367, numerous times!! I blocked it yet somehow the call kept coming through. Today it was an animated sort of message, that was captured on the end of the message, saying it was about a case file, it was urgent that I contact them at the number given above. I called them, was answered by a someone that I could not understand, however he has called ID and knew my name, scary!!. I had trouble understanding him but he said IRS has a case open for me and it was important that I meet them at the court house, huh??? I asked why had I know received anything in the mail as I knew that would be the way that IRS would contact me and not a phone call. Told him I would call IRS directly on their toll free number. I knew I had done nothing wrong and hung up on him.

- jessica| 2 repliesYup, "the IRS is filing a suit against you." I actually called back, and a man with a heavy Indian accent asked what number I'm calling from, and I gave it to him. From that, he was able to tell what my physical address was, and what my name is. He said to "listen very carefully," that the call was being recorded by various gov't. agencies and not to interrupt until he was finished with his speech. He said that the IRS had done an audit on my taxes from 2008 to 2013, and that they had found a "willful act to defraud the gov't." He wanted $2,475 immediately, or else the police would arrive to arrest me and throw me in prison. He said that according to article 6331H, my house, car, and bank accounts would be frozen. I said that this made no sense to me and told him that I was going to call the IRS myself. His response? Silence. I hung up.

- NoahObviously scammers trying to scare and intimidate people using the IRS as a front. Do not be fooled the IRS contacts you by mail, not by phone. Have fun with them and waste as much of their time acting scared and concerned. I went on for 10 minutes wasting the scammers time playing with them. I just consider it a public service to tie up these thief's so they can not bother and intimidate someone less suspecting. Give it back to these thief's America!! Have some fun.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
