Automated opinion poll. Asked who I was going to vote for. When I responded, it stopped and said thank you and hung up. Felt suspicious to me.

Have been receiving a call from this number all week. It is a poll survey-asking me to select 1 is voting for McCain; 2 if voting for Obama; another number if undecided. It also states at the end that the survey is paid for by Dallas County Republican Party.   VERY ANNOYING!!!!!

Repeated calls at late hrs.

Just got a call from 202-747-7314. Didn't answer.  Then found this site. Called the number back, and automated voice said, "if you feel your number has been called in error please press one" I didn't press one because I have no idea who this is.

I answered a call from 2027477314 and they told me obama was a terrorist muslim farty pants and then made me hate him.  how immature?

Received a call from this number twice in one hour. Didn't answer. Looked it up and found this. It appears to be political in nature.

I received calls from 202-747-7314 as follows:
11/2/08 at 6:44 p.m. & 5:10 p.m.
10/27/08 at 6:29 a.m.
There were several other annoying political calls that I just erased from my cell phone because they took up so much room.

I am so sick of all this political garbage and all the money being wasted on the ads on television, through the mail (which I just toss in the garbage where they belong!) and on my home and cell phones, that goes on 1-2 years before an election!! It gets even worse, if that is possible, when it gets down to the wire!!
If all this continues, I will not be voting for anyone at any of the upcoming elections!!

Received a call from this number. Answered. Nothing but silence from their end and then the call terminiated. I tried call back... The phone rang and rang and rang for about three minutes and then became a busy signal. Very STRANGE!

Called my cell phone.  I don't give that number out to anyone.  ARGH. Didn't answer.

After a first call, and reading the other messages about this number, and the fact that they usually call back a second time that day...

...thought it would be fun to pick it up the second time they called...

...they did an hour after the first call.

It's a robo-response unit, so just say "hi" to have them start the polling.

They identify themselves as EMC Research with a poll that won't take long.

In my instance, they were polling call for our upcoming local election in Seattle.

The questions are rather directed to a particular race...in my case, they focused on the King County Executive race.

The questions were press 1/2/3, and included things like: male/female...democrate/independant/republican...do you like democrat or republicans...age grouping...

...then the meat of the poll for King County (Seattle) Executive...who you would vote for and who your favorite candidate is.

Great fun can be invoked in screwing up these polls by saying exactly the opposite of how you are actually voting, and/or spliting back and forth with contrasting responses on alternating questions.

These polls typically get major play in the media by which ever candidate is funding the calls.

Do your part to screw up the results to make them a complete waste of the candidate's money, as that is the only hope we have to make them worthless...

...and as a result, fight back.
