SOME ONE POSING AS  AN IRS OFFICER ASKED ME TO DEPOSIT $2,400.00 THRU WALMART CUSTOMER SERVICE --- SOMETHING CALLED  GREEN DOT ACCOUNT.

I DEPOSITED THE MONEY BECAUSE I GOT SCARED.   BUT WHEN I TRIED TO CALL AGAIN THERE IS A VOICE MAIL WITHOUT ANY NAME PERSON'S MENTIONED ON THE VOICE MAIL.   SOMETHING IS VERY FISHY.  

I'LL TRY TO CALL THE AUTHORITIES TO REPORT THIS INCIDENT.

AGENT MICHAEL THOMAS POSING AS  AN IRS OFFICER TOLD ME TO DEPOSIT $990.00 THRU WALMART CUSTOMER SERVICE --- SOMETHING CALLED  GREEN DOT ACCOUNT DUE TO A UNPAID IRS TAX BILL. THREATENED ME WITH JAIL TIME IF I DIDNT DO IT IMMEDIATELY.  I PLAYED ALONG AND TOLD HIM I HAD THE GREEN CARD.  HE THEN WANTED ME TO SCRATCH OFF THE SECURITY STRIP ON THE BACK OF THE CARD AND GIVE HIM THE NUMBER. AS I GAVE HIM A NUMBER I COULD HEAR HIM ON A COMPUTER CHECKING TO SEE IF THE CASH WAS AVAILABLE. ONCE HE REALIZED IT WAS A FAKE NUMBER HE HUNG UP.  SPEND 20 MINUTES ON THE PHONE WITH THIS SCUM BAG. I FIGURE IT WAS 20 LESS HE HAD TO   TRY AND SCAM SOME OTHER PERSON.

Someone posing as an IRS officer left a threatning voicemail for me... My first reaction was that IRS would first send a written notice, secondly they would never threaten anyone but would courteously tell them the reason for their call. I have the recorded message and callers info. maybe I should hand it over to the authorities.

Agent Michael Thomas, stated he was with the IRS tax crime unit. He demanded we call him back or we will be sued. We are prime suspects in a tax crime case. The name Michael Thomas shows as an attorney in New York. He is an IRS investigator at this number: 212-436-1761. Like others have said, we would have gotten a letter; not a demanding, angry person, threatening us. BEWARE!

Called and said they were from IRS tax crime unit. I told them to send me any correspondence through mail. He said that they were sending local sheriff to come arrest me. I told him I would be here waiting for them. IDIOTS!!

Receive a call from 202-754-8076. Caller identify himself as a Mike Thomas - IRS Crime & Tax Department
with badge 3682007, indicating he is investigating agent from IRS criminal department, his office is at 1111, Constitution Ave N.W, Room 2501, Washington DC - 20224. I ignored such calls in the past, but recently when I was not home a call was picked up by my wife, and she got little upset with it. So thought I should report to local police department. I called them and they indicated me to contact IRS, also next time when we receive such call, contact police via 911, and file a report harassment or suspicious call with detail.

Received phishing call today from this number from someone claiming to be an IRS agent (Officer David Peterson).  Person spoke with distinct Indian accent and when I said he did not sound like an American he said he was Hispanic.  I said he could speak to me in Spanish but he said he would transfer me to his supervisor at which point I hung up.

You all are smart they got me good for over 3k and regreating ever since, it started with vicious voice message from Jennifer Smith posing as an IRS agent and said that your trouble has just begin so better call back in 15 minuts, was at work so could not call back, scared the hell out of me, call back after weekend to find out what it is all about and got scammed.

Received a call today an agent posing as an IRS officer (with a strong accent from number 202-754-8076) stating I did not pay my taxes etc. and requested for me to pay $2,400 so there wouldn't be any fraudulent charges. He continued to read off my IRS charges and if I didn't pay they would sue. I asked him to send me an IRS formal letter stating my charges and he continued to state I will not send you a letter and continued to read off his bull [***] document. Anyway they are a major SCAM. If they were the IRS the would have to send you a detailed state or federal letter detailing what the issue is. Call them out on it and they will hang up and never call back.

David Petersen posing as IRS officer. Wanted to be called back immediately or IRS would take legal action.  The voice is synthesized and the message is a threat.  This seems a scam.

Today those scam artists are calling from a new number: 347-418-0473

Received a call from (202) 754-8076. Said it was from the IRS and requested that I call that number back or my attorney should call them back. I could tell that this guy who identified himself as "Michael Thomas" was from South Asia. When I called the number back it was clear that this was NOT the IRS. I don't know how to stop this stuff from happening, I got another call from  (347) 418-0473 today  saying essentially the same thing.

MY VIEW - THESE ARE FRAUD CALLS - DON'T RESPOND.

We have been receiving calls from 202-754-8076 saying they are from the IRS and if we did not send them money they would send the police to our house and arrest us. BULL SH.

Heavily accented male called today, from 3475015184 with similar story. He claimed to be from IRS audit dept, name David Peterson. Said I'm being sued by IRS for under paying my taxes. Need to pay 2300.00 USD. I asked for case number and to have docs sent to my house. No intelligent reply to that one. I played along for a while, he finally figured out I wasn't buying his story, I wouldn't hang up and I'm sure he wanted me to. Eventually he hung up after I wasted about 20 minutes of his time :-)
They are scum!!! Some people fall into their trap and send them money. Why???  iRS will not call and threaten you for money, they will always send you demand in mail.

Today I received a call from Alex Cooper (713) 370 7960, who claimed to be an agent in the IRS Tax Crimes Unit. It was a recorded message with a foreign accent demanding I call him back or I would be prosecuted.
When I returned the call, I had to leave a message on the voice mail.  I received a call back in a few minutes from someone with the same voice as the first recorded message I had received. The asked to speak with someone named Tracy who has never been at my number

An "Officer Michael Thomas" from the "IRS" called my cell claiming I was being audited. He asked for my name which was a red flag. From then on I knew it was a scam. When I continued to let him think I was buying it, I confronted him with a few simple questions. I asked him his name, his ID#,the name of his agency & his address to which he refused asking "Why, are you coming down here?"At this point, he got very defensive and rude with me. I told him to send me the audit papers. He told me he could not send me paperwork on this audit and that I have 2 options: settle or go to court. When I pushed back at him about never receiving paperwork he said I was supposed to send a written notice of change to the IRS which is false. He tried to scare me into "settling" this debt out of court (presumably by wiring him the money) by saying he was putting liens on my home, my accounts would be frozen, etc...When I got loud with him he said I was being argumentative and was going to hang up. I told him to do what he needed to do and I'd like to call him back. His reply "once we get off this phone I will not be speaking with you again." I replied, seems the IRS would speak to me if I have follow up questions. He very soon hung up. I called back and it was busy. Apparently this guy called from a multitude of phone lines. He is very pushy and has a very thick accent. BEWARE!!!!

Today they are calling from this number 516-823-7020 "Officer Michael Thomas"
