- Shelly| 2 repliesMessage on my voicemail started midway through the recording. "Craig " says I have to call back or risk being charged with a federal criminal offense and be dragged in front of a grand jury. Fortunately, I know the "treasury dept" does not make these threatening phone calls and that it is a SCAM. I did not call back and I am reporting to the local police department.
- Caller: United States Treasury
- JJ| 2 repliesMessage on voicemail from a man with a British accent, threatening that if I did not respond I would face a grand jury charged with a federal offense. Another version of the IRS scam.

- weary consumerI have received 2 calls from this number. Hung up on the first call and 25 minutes later, the second came in on my voice mail/ 202-754-8360....claiming that if I did not respond I would face a grand jury charged with a federal offense. Figured is was just another scam.
- KMI got 2 calls from this number today! The first one just indicated that I needed to call 202-754-8360 about a Treasury Department complaint. The second one actually threatened me with grand jury charges. This is NOT how the Treasury Department contacts people!! Don't fall for it!
- Caller: Claims to be Treasury Department
- SusanSame as those above, said I'd be reported if I didn't respond, dragged in front of a grand jury, etc. not an American sounding voice!
- Caller: Treasury Department
- SGReceived recorded message that said..."ignoring this call would constitute a 2nd attempt to contact me." Something about the IRS. No Government office would EVER communicate with people in this manner.

- RyanSame as those above. Called here within the last couple of hours.
- DHaywardTwo calls today (second call from 202-754-8321) from 'David Greg' or 'David Grey', calling about enforcement against me (although I'm never named) from the US Treasury, ordering my appearance before a magistrate or grand jury! (Oh my stars and garters!) He warns of a second attempt, which happened about 10 min later, in which he repeats the threat and gave the second number. Wow, I guess extensions are hard to keep for any length of time at the US Treasury. <sarcasm>
Please do not believe these calls! The IRS always contacts you in written form if they have an issue. Go here to find out more about this scam: https://www.treasury.gov/about/organizational ... rts_index2.aspx
"A similar scam is a caller falsely representing that he is from the Internal Revenue Service or impersonating an investigator from this Office and demanding payment or information. These callers have been described as threatening or abusive, and tell victims they need to make immediate payment to forestall arrest. THESE ARE FRAUDS. PLEASE EXERCISE CAUTION IN YOUR DEALINGS WITH ANYONE PURPORTING TO BE FROM A GOVERNMENT AGENCY AND DEMANDING MONEY OR INFORMATION. "An enforcement action executed five United States treasury and tending your serious attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is 202-754-8360. I repeat it's 202-754-8360. I'd like you to call with us and help us to help you. Thank you." - marieSame exact deal --
verbatum from David Gregg at 202-754-8321. Calling the police...tired of this nonsense...many past calls received. - Steve replies to ShellyJust got the same recorded message from a "Mr. Craig" at the "U.S. Treasury". It sounded weird so I called the number back and got a busy signal. Guy has a Jamaican accent. Calls twice. Second call is threatening, something about a "magistrate." He also emailed me, using all small case letters and bad grammar. This scam should be stopped immediately before they frighten some poor older person.
- Pat replies to JJI just received the same call today (12/7), sounds like the same guy. Unfortunately I could not understand his name, as he did have an accent and spoke very low.
