A guy from this number calls a couple of times a day claiming to be calling on behalf of the US Treasury. I have asked him to remove my phone number but he says he will call me 100 times per day. I tried to call the number back to make a complaint but the mailbox is full

Same story as others, no response to answering this call. I would recommend you never call these numbers back however; as some May result in extraneous billing from your phone service provider. Bottom line is that if you don't recognize the number and they don't talk when you answer, it is not important, or worth perusing.

Called twice in 10 mins. First time was a man saying he was calling from US Treasury and that I qualify for a 10,000 grant can be deposited in my bank account. I told him that I knew that was a scam and  hung up..called the number back and got message no calls being received. About five mins later a woman called and said she was from US Treasury and then disconnected. I called back and got a guy who said he was not from DC but that I had the correct number. He said he did not make any calls.

It's people claiming to be from the US Treasury and saying you have been selected to get free money from the government, but they need your credit card information or bank account information. It's an obvious scam. There is a lot of noise and the caller usually has a thick accent as well.

    It is a scam.
The government does not offer grants to individuals for personal use.
It is a scam ran by off shore con artists to trick you into sending unrecoverable money to them, you get nothing in return.

The only legitimate avenue for government grants is through www.grants.gov which is the official US government webs site for grants.
    From their FAQ concerning fraud:
    http://www.grants.gov/web/grants/support/general-support/grant-fraud.html

    Please note the following:

No government grant-making agency will make phone calls; send email or letters to solicit money or personal banking information from a potential grant recipient.
There are no processing fees for federal grants.
Federal grants are not issued for personal use, but are intended for institutions and non-profits to carry out projects with a public purpose.
Know who you're dealing with on the web.  Scam artists will often post a website with a name similar to a legitimate site.
If you have provided personal banking information to anyone claiming to be associated with a Federal grant agency, call your bank immediately to prevent unauthorized access to your account.

If you receive a call, mail, email, FAX, or any other form of communication soliciting you for a grant, STOP.
    It is a scam.
    Report it to the FTC:
    http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0113-government-grant-scams

File a complaint with the FTC. If you think you may have been a victim of a government grant scam, file a complaint with the FTC online https://ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ , or call toll-free, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357); TTY: 1-866-653-4261. The FTC enters Internet, telemarketing, identity theft, and other fraud-related complaints into Consumer Sentinel, a secure online database available to hundreds of civil and criminal law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad.

Call received from someone claiming to be from the US Treasury department. Said that they had $4,000 for me. I asked them what time it was and he said, 12 o'clock in Washington DC. Then I asked what time it was in Africa, where he was calling from. He asked how I knew he was African. I said because I am not stupid and hung up.

You could hear a lot of noise and voices in the background. It was obviously a call center. He had a west African-type accent.

I have received calls from this number and another number [202-304-8101]. read complaints against the second number and they gave a number that you get referred to [202-559-7936] you will get 'Russell' at that number. I told Russell about the rude treatment from the 8101 number and told him to take my name off of their list.

I keep Russell's number handy and call him after any of these calls. It seems to be working because Russell sounds very harried when he is talking to me.
