I did not answer this call, because it did not identify caller, left NO message, must not have been very important

Political call.  Not giving a dime to the republican party.

I had been getting calls from 202-747-7384 for the past week or so which I never answer unless I pick up and don't say anything.  They hang up after 10-15 seconds.  I finally went on verizonwireless and blocked that number so this afternoon I got a call from this number.  I guess they found I had blocked the other number.  I will block this number now and see what happens.

This is exactly the same scenario that's happened to me. I am confident, however, that this is a debt collector using spoofed numbers and neither of these numbers belong the RNC.

It was a robo call from the RNC wanting money .What a joke

I receive call from this number. Caller id says from Washington DC. They stated they were with the IRS and wanted information or I'd be in legal trouble. Yeah, right. Hung up and blocked the number.

Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Please realize that political calls do not fall under the DNC.  What you need to do is tell them you do not want to receive their calls, and make sure you do a opt out with all the political parties.  Then, if you receive calls, go that persons web site and under their contact us page, write them and tell them to place you on their internal dnc list and also there is a political do not call you can sign up for. I did and also tell them to use that list and give them the url for it. I have not gotten any calls for years now.  Not even political survey's.  So it does help to follow the steps.

The other thing that will help, if you have a cell phone, if it doesn't already have call blocking, there are free call blocking apps online you can get for some phones. If you have a land line, google call blocking devices. There are phones also available with call blocking but they do not hold as many numbers as devices do. Many of the devices run around 60.00

Just got called. Been getting calls from 202-765-0853 lately also which have not picked up. I picked this one up, and the guy asked for me by my first name. I said who is this, and he then hung up. I don't know what this is for.

Same here. I blocked other number w/VZN after several calls. Just rec'd call from new number tonight. I'll block it as well.

Nice try, 'conservative voter', but your claim is transparently bogus. You seem to be the only one claiming it was a legit RNC fundraising call. This number alternates their CID between 'RNC' & 'Washington DC' which the real RNC would never do. And they only started using RNC after many of us blocked their previously spoofed 'Repub Natl Com' number. Impersonating the IRS or immediately hangup up when calls are answered is not a robo call. You're obviously part of the debt collector's spoofing scam trying to mislead others into thinking this isn't a collection scheme. Tell me this; if it was just a routine robo call from the RNC call why would you even visit this site to check out the number since you already knew who it was?!

How on earth do you know it's the Republicans when there is NO identifier and no one says anything? It's just a hang up.

 The exact same thing just happened to me.  The number had come in a few times and I ignored it but decided to answer today.  He asked for me by my first name, I said it was I and he hung up.  I'm gonna try and block the number.

Guy says what's the first name?  I says the first name that pops into my head?  He says what is it? I says Bartholomew.  He says that's not it, we got it right here.  I says you got the first name that pops into my head right there?  He says it's Stephen with a ph.  I says that was the third name that popped into my head, so your information is all wrong, and what not.  It went on like this for about 2-3 minutes, and then I made the donation.  It's for the Somali Bicycle Association, which sure seems like a good cause.  I gave him my Discover Card number because I get points back.  He was wrong about the name but we soon became fast friends.  He's gonna call me next week and let me know what color bicycle the little Somali tyke picked out.  Sometimes charity doesn't begin at home, it begins in far-flung corners of the globe, and so forth, what can I say?
