Apparent IRS scam

The swindler is so in-professional and lack of work ethic to call at 6:00am and wake potential victim up from sleep, and with a foreign accent to pretend to be IRS, and didn't want to hang up even I told him he is a fraud.

This number is claiming to be the IRS...
Totally phony...

Scam. Total scam. The IRS sends letters, they don't call and these foreigners are scamming for every free American dollar they can get.

They were claiming that I owed money from 2008-2013 in the amount of 5k.  They wanted to know information about me.  I told them that if they are the IRS they should know all of this about me already.  They didn't like that...

So my husband was the one who actually got the call at 4:30am. They claim they are the IRS and said there was a warrant out for his arrest for $4k in tax fraud. They said they couldn't update our address because if we did then the police would know where he was and take him back to CA. My husband said he's gonna talk to JAG today and they did like that; they said he had to pay now or they couldn't help him :/ TOTAL SCAM!!!!!

Shows from Washington DC.  States from the IRS and that an internal investigation is being launched against me.  Caller was female and sounded as if from India.  IRS always sends letters first.

Just got a call from this number, and it showed as coming from Washington D.C. A man with an Indian accent claimed he was from the IRS. When I reacted with shock, he said "Don't be so dramatic." Then he told me that I owed back taxes in the amount of $4,800. When I asked him from which years, he said "2008-2013." I then said "I'll wait for all of this in writing from you." He then said they'd sent a letter but that I'd not replied, and I said I'd not received any letter. Then he said, "You have to pay NOW" and I said, "I would never pay anything without seeing something in writing," to which he replied, "Then you'll be arrested! Pay now, or you'll be arrested." I then said, "Arrest me then," and he hung up.

She was taking in a different language until I said hello really loudly. She then said jan? Jan? I said jen? It's Jennifer. And she proceeded with the whole iits the irs bs when I told her I have paid all my taxes. She said these are different . She gave a fake address and I said that's not my address and she was like Jennifer gentry? I said no. Wrong person.

Caller from washington. just blocked the number after seeing all this.

Received call, when I would not confirm my identity without knowing who was calling, they hung up.  I used one of my blocked numbers to call them back and that line is disconnected.

Total Scam. Caller claimed to be from the IRS and that I owed $4,985.93 for taxes unpaid 2008-2013.

same story 100th verse - call sounded threatening - IRS is going to sue me - PHAT CHANCE!!

This is a totally rhetorical question, but if so many of these calls are being made from the same number, why can't it be stopped?  Am I the only one who wishes for the Good Old ATT of old? (where you could call an operator and report such a matter and the problem would cease)?
