Since I have several messages out to Govt phone numbers in DC, I answered the call.  They asked for a family member by first name. I did not know if it was legit or not yet and decided to find out more.  I asked what the call was about and hem who could barely speak English and not a Spanish accent  either.  He said it was about a grant from HHS>. Any one who reads my on line blog would know of the huge thefts of public monies by their contractors who run the whole mess there now with no budget from congress for civil or criminal oversight and that means no audit control and good evidence indicates that our private info is being misused for blatant fraud, also by contractors illegally.  I said what was the grant for, as there are legitimate grants given for various programs and he then switched to I  could get a lot of money ( I was pretty sure when he said grants it was a scam as this is not the process to get one. at all and was waiting for the request for my credit card number to pay for a list I get in my public press releases from HHS already. that anyone can sigh up and get.   When I pressed him for what work would need to be done  for the grant, he then hung up . THE GOVERNMENT NOR CONTRACTORS ARE MAKING COLD CALLS SOLICITING GRANTS LIKETHIS AND IF THEY WERE RESPONDING TO SOMEONE'S E MAIL OR LETTER REQUEST FOR INFO THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO STATE CLEARLY WHAT THE GRANT WAS FOR AND WHAT THE WORK TO BE DONE WAS. and they do not ask for money, one applies and then its decided which applicant gets the money for work to be done.    Some how being able to use a 202 number for DC is designed to make the scammer look legit and why I even answered the call, although real govt offices will usually ID the agency or contractor, even though in some cases the theft of our ID is from within the contractors it has nothing to do with the work they are doing for the govt that is legit. . . I received a call from this number, they asked for me by first and last name. I was not at home. My husband asked who was calling and the caller said John Spencer. He asked what it was in reference to, and he said sex. (HHS?) He said the voice was kind of "off, goofy."

I received calls from both of these numbers within minutes of each other

Got a call from 202-784-5232 and Id said Washington DC so I answer it was a women and ask for me by first name I said I was not home and if she like to leave a message and she said no and hung up

I just got a call again from 202-784-5232 asking for me they knew my full name I told them I would tell them if I am her or not but first they had to tell me there name and what company the work for and the state so he tell me his name is John Smith and he is calling from Pakistan but did not tell me what company  he works for ok his name is American he's call from Pakistan and his accent is chinese  so I told him I was recording him he started  laughing  and calling me name that I won't write them on here so I called him names right back and told him I was a lawyer and he hung up which really I am not a lawyer I told he he was nothing but a scam they where doing and the caller ID said washinton

SCAM "Jessica Jones" with a thick Indian accent from the Federal Treasury Department called to let me know that I had been randomly selected for a grant of $9,000 which I never have to pay back. I let "Jessica" know that I didn't think this was a real call and she stated that it was a real call, although she knows it is hard to believe, but I was selected. I then said "Ok, Jessica, I'm just going to let you know that I am going to report you as a SCAM because this is not a real or wanted call." She then said "No, you are NOT" and hung up. Guess I lost out on that $9,000...

I just received three back to back calls, didn't answer them because my phone is on silent and I didn't see it light up.  I called the number back and the recording said it was a non working Georgetown University number.  When I have received these calls before, I've told them to continue to stay on the line, that they have received a police officer and that I was recording the entire phone call and tracking them as we speak to let the US Marines and the SEAL team know.  Haha.  They hung up really fast, but not before they called me a few choice names. :)
