Harassment. Phone rings, I pick-up, and nothing there. I am on the worthless no call list.

Shows up as "Washington DC" on caller ID. It is actually the "Retired Troopers Association." 99.9% of the time, they call and when you answer theres no one on the line. This is apparently what you get for trying to be charitable and donating to any particular cause...Your phone number is entered into some sort of charity database and the calls never stop.

A couple of pieces of advice, call or visit the "National Do Not Call Registry," web site. It won't stop the charitable organizations, but at least other solicitors will desist. And secondly, when any charitable organization calls (do ask for the name of the organization) dont give them any money--instead ask to be removed from their calling system. Your much better off just sticking your change into that little donation box/can thingy on the counter at whatever local convience store you frequent.

One final word..Not answering the call will not end your harassment, you must be tenacious. Answer each and every time with a chiper tone so that they will be willing to give you any needed infomation about their little program. This will allow you to find out about the larger organization that is at the root of your problem. Once you feel you have gotten the necessary info--kindly ask to be removed from the callers call listings. Though I can't promise you all intrusive calls will cease, I can say that it is definitely a few of good steps down the long road towards "Serenity" population YOU! Good luck.

These people call me around 10 times per day starting at 10 AM. When I politely asked them to please stop calling me, the woman on the line responded very rudely. EXTREMELY IRRITATING.

I have received numerous calls from Troopers Care of this number.  When I answered there was nothing but harrassment.  So I called asked for the address, the man said they were CRF and gave me an address in Evansville, IN.  I am going to call the Attorney General of Indiana and Ohio and file a complaint.

Troopers care, calls up to 10 times a day EVERYDAY! I never answer, then one day the same number called and the caller id said Amber alert, I instinctively answered thinkinking that some child may be in danger, only to have the person on the other end ask for someone named Georgia. I told him he had the wrong number and he asked if I knew Georgia ????, I replied I did not and hung up. That was three days ago and they have not called back. If they were a legit company how come they program their caller id to show whatever they choose and why ask for someone they know don't exsist. Scammers!!!!

I have received numerous calls from 202 800 5555 and when I answer no one is on the line. The most disturbing part is it appears on caller ID as an amber anouncement. If this is truly from the troopers association It is not only discussing but infuriating that they would use the mental association of Amber Hagerman to solicite money. I have donated to this association in the past but after these calls .....never again.

came up as   the guy was a jerk  asked for my mother when i handed her the phone he hung up thats not why i say he was a jerk he refused to speak to me my mother is hard of hearing so i answer the phone for her . the guy was a total prick

Yes, we get about 5-10 call per day from them also. Usually no one is there when we pick up. This is very, very annoying. I wish we could block this #. I think we actually spoke to someone one time - they are NOT a non-profit organization - you CANNOT claim any donations to them on your taxes and we did some checking on them and only like .04 of every dollar went to the actual retired troopers fund. They are nothing more than glorified telemarketers.

They actually have the nerve to come up as Amber Announcement, multiple times a day & every day of the week!!

Got this call today. ID read Amber Announcement....is that legal? I didn't answer and no message was left. How can they make you think they're an amber alert?

They've called multiple times since my last post. This time I answered. They say Hello, Sue?. So that they couldn't hang up before I requested removal I just said Remove me from your list! She said Don't you even want to know why I'm calling? I replied I really don't care, remove me...and hung up.   I could have played it and said Let me see...are you a good friend asking me to go to lunch? or some such thing...opted to hang up.

I received a call from this tel number.(202-800-5555) the person said he was calling
for Amber Alert contributions. When I told him I already have contributed to my charities, he simply and rudely hung up. I feel it was a bogus call from someone, when I called back I was put on hold forever. I receive calls from the Faternal Order of Police a lot, they are the rudest people I have ever taken a call from.

Received a few calls from this number with the caller ID showing "Amber Alert".  Like almost every other post here, after answering they hang up.  After the second time I called the number back from my cell phone to express my frustration.  I asked the person that answered why they were calling.  She proceeded to go into a sales pitch and ask for a donation to this company that "Supports the Amber Alert System". My response was less than passive while I voiced my opinion about her company that has the audacity to use the Amber Alert name on caller ID so someone can profit from it.  She claimed she wasn't aware that caller ID showed it as Amber Alert as she read from her script.  Not sure why I'm still shocked that there are people out there that would operate a company through deception and disgrace the name of a legitimate, respectful organization...or worse yet, there are people that will go to work for this type of company.

amber alert - no answer - multiple times each day.

When this # calls, it says AMBER ALERT, but when you answer, no one is there.  There was a message
left on my recorder and they were asking for us.  AMBER ALERTS DO NOT ASK FOR YOU BY NAME.

We receive multiple calls from this number as well. It always says "Amber Alert". Is there anything that can be done to the owners of this number?  Please, if you know how to stop these calls, let everyone know. They never are on the line when we answer and we have tried everything. We are getting sick of these calls. And, by reading all these posts, I'm not the only one.

I actually got someone to pick up over there! They were calling all day and would never answer the phone when I called back. My advice, keep calling them like I did until you get through. Then ask them to take your number off the list. It took me four tries but finally got someone to answer.
