Individual was female with extremely thick accent.  Said that she was from the IRRS (love the second R)--started saying that I have a criminal law suit against me and that I better give my attorney's number and info.  When I challenged her about being from the INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE, and how she could be contacted with an employee number, she hung up.  She was asking for Pete but saying it as Petty.  I darn well know that this is a scammer from elsewhere trying to shake down innocent people.  I would report it to the local police, but, their attitude is, If you didn't get taken, they can't do anything about it.  Rio Rancho New Mexico is tops.

I received a call from a lady...thick accent...told me I was being sued by IRS - Internal revenue service.  Then told me to call someone named Alex Watson at this numbers.  He was very ignorant and rude.  He told me to Call my employer, tell them I was going to jail for 3 years and to pick up my stuff.  Police would pick me up at my job to totally humiliate me and take me away. Told me not be "smart" or else he'd have them come to my house.   They called me on my Cell phone number.  I called my tax accountant and he told me to google the phone number...prank call.  I am  going to report them to the IRS, police, and phone service.

I have received several calls in the past 3 days from this number at my place of business as I am the receptionist.  On the final call they finally left a message.  Lady with heavy accent claiming to be with the IRS and stating it was a extremely important legal matter & a call must be returned immediately.  The person they are trying to contact does work here but she had no clue how to pronounce his name.  Last time I checked his name was extremely common and only a fool would mispronounce it.  I have dealt with the IRS before and they DO NOT make calls like this.  This is a SCAM!!!  Beware!!!!

I have been called repeatily today claiming they are with the IRS. They were asking for someone that I do not even know and I told them they had the wrong phone number. I finally realized they were scammers when I said I didn't know the person they were enquirying about and he proceeded to tell me this person is going to jail! Ya right, I doubt the IRS would give me that information. When I told him I was going to report them to the police he hung up on me. Watch out people, I'm not sure what they up to, but I'm sure it's nothing good.

    I'm going to Jail Tomorrow!?!
Same deal, totally rude scammers heavy Indian accent, some girl named Darcy or Tracy Williams(I couldn't understand her), said that I was going to jail tomorrow and that may God save me, she said may God save me like 3 times...So I started playing along, and asked how God is going to save me, until she finally hung up on me.  I actually called back to speak to Alex Watson(heavy accent as well) answered on the 1st ring, he asked for a case number or phone number, I said I had neither and I asked to speak to Darcy/Tracy Williams, he said she left for a trial case, (yeah right, I had just spoken to her less than 1 minute ago)...Alex said that he can't do anything without a case number or phone number, I told him that he was crazy and that he should be more organized when trying to scam someone, I mean they originally called me!!!!
I ended up hanging up on him and putting a block on this number so they don't bother me again.

guy called claiming to be w/ IRS Alex Watson or Elex , whatever, called from 202-800-7731
treated to have the police come arrest my husband at work, where he called my husband, kept saying an email had been sent that was not responded to.  kept asking how much money we had in bank and demanded a payment right then, said if he hung up without setting up the payment he was having him arrested, that he would lose his job, it is awful. as you can imagine my husband called me in a major panic.
I spoke with the IRS, she said they do not have those tactics, they do not email, or call people, or send the police to arrest people at work.  She told me to report this call on the irs.gov website which I did.  This motherfu##er needs to be arrested.  He is a piece of [***] scum of the earth.

"Alex Watson" called and told me that they were from the IRS. He had a heavy accent, and it was hard to understand him. He told me that I owed over $17,000 to the IRS. He said that if I didn't pay, they were going to pick me up from work tomorrow and I would spend 3 years in jail.

I just had the same thing as everyone else.  A woman identified herself as Michele from the IRS Legal Department and I needed to call back immediately or have my attorney call them.  Finally, I got the "Alex Watson" butt head on the phone.  Extremely rude and intimidating, he just started telling me that I was going to be arrested at work tomorrow and the sentence is 3 years.  When I asked what this was for he paused and then said he was going to pull my "case."  I heard the shuffle of papers and he said he'd read it to me, but I could not interrupt or say anything.  When i did finally say that I had never heard from anyone at the IRS, he started screaming at me saying "why do you always have to interrupt me?" and a bunch of other BS.  He was vague, although he did name off some supposed IRS form numbers that he said I did not file properly.  His whole mode is to intimidate you.  I immediately called my CPA and he said that California people are being targeted, mostly because of the illegal immigrant population.  He said that after this call, I will get a call from someone posing as the police or another IRS division that will allow me to avoid jail time if I pay them.  He also told me that they are preying on the immigrants in CA because they are worried about deportation or getting mixed up with the government and many of these people are paying them.  The whole thing is a scam.  Since they are calling from D.C. I am going to forward a complaint to the FBI, give them the phone number used and hope that they can find these guys.  Until I had a chance to settle down, I was a bit worried about the whole thing.  But, the IRS does not just call you out of the blue and threaten you.  You would get a bunch of letters in the mail, which is policy for the IRS, and phone calls to discuss any issues.  Do not pay these guys a penny no matter how real it seems.

Thank you--I just received a phone MESSAGE from a gentlemen (and I use that word loosely) with a heavy accent--called himself Mark Jackson.  Claimed he was from the IRS audit department regarding fraud and misconduct that we had filed on our tax returns--money that we received and not reported.  Left his phone #---when I called back his voice mail claimed we had contacted the IRS (phone # 202-239-5370).
We are an elderly couple and KNOW we did not file a fraudulent tax return--BUT it caused my husband and I extreme emotional stress,
I called the # and left a message that I had contacted my lawyer and wanted a certified letter from them outlining our alleged fraud and misconduct.
Upon reading your messages we feel that we have also been scammed!!!

Hi I got the same call today. This heavy accent was so hard to understand I had to listen to the message twice. same deal, IRS, call or else, Blah blah blah. Clearly they are NOT the IRS so if you read this, just ignore them. I am guessing the IRS would want to know someone is using their name to scam innocent folks.
