- SusanCalled my cell phone and left a message about giving me 72 hours notice before any action being taken (no one gives notice prior to serving papers), and then called my office asking to speak to my supervisor. The receptionist knows the spiel since I get these calls all the time, and told her that my supervisor won't be in for 3 days, so the lady said "oh, ok, I'll put this on hold then" Yea, whatever.

- Andy| 1 replyMultiple calls, probably linked with that scam where they act like bounty hunters looking for you. It's 2014 and these clowns still walk the streets. Screw the war on drugs, we need a war on fraudsters!
My latest message goes as follows:
"This is a call from HCV (?) assets. Before reporting you have been uncooperative of the investigation against you. If we do not hear from either you or your legal representation today we'll be left with no recourse other than to report your non-compliance in the issue to the proper jurisdiction. Our office number is 202-280-6143. Please reference file number 504170 when calling. We look forward to your prompt response."
Almost want to work out a meeting with these [***] just to knock their heads around a bit. Who falls for this crap?- Caller: HCV Assets
- Debra| 1 replyA message was left to my nephew who lives in a different state. The message was a debt collector ACB Assets. I told the man that my nephew did not live here and that he was already in jail. I told him to lose my number. He called me "A Piece of [***]". I hung up. I called back and asked for a supervisor. He said that he is a lawyer name Anthony Crum of Anderson Crumb and BRown. He said that he was taping. I said good then he should have captured himself calling me foul name and profanity was uncalled for.
I don't know how these people go my name and telephone.
How can they be stopped or reported?- Caller: ACB ASSETS

If you have received a call stating:
1. You have defrauded a financial institution
2. You owe an unpaid payday loan
3. You have a warrant due to an unpaid loan
5. You will receive a court summons
6. Authorities are coming to arrest you
7. Anything similar to above,
a. Do not give them any information or verify any information for them
b. Tell them you know they are a scam operating illegally and that you are filing a complaint with the appropriate authorities
* File a complaint with the FBI on their Internet Crime webpage http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
* File a complaint with the Attorney General for the state you live in
The more information and complaints there are, the better the chance of getting these criminals to stop (or at least reduce the frequency). [abstracted from another site]
They continue to bother you, tell them you are going to the police to make a complaint of extortion. - SonyaWow these people at ACB Assets at 202-803-6143 called my parents and in laws leaving these same types of messages above. I'm turning them in to the Attorney General of where I live. Got to be stoped harassing people. Such evil people!

- Mary| 1 replyFRAUD ALERT!
My sister was contacted on 8/21/14 via her mobile phone from a representative claiming to be with an attorney called Anderson Crum & Brown. The representative stated that I was going to be served with legal paperwork and provided my sister a phone number and reference number to contact (202-803-6143, reference 665753). I was also contacted on 8/21 from a phone number 814-251-9900 from 'Shannon Murphy' to inform me that 'legal documents were issued from Maricopa County' and she was coming to serve me at either my residence or my employer in regards to a scheduled court appearance. I called the number 202-803-6143 and provided my reference number and spoke to a woman named Rachael Wilgus who informed me that 'US Fast Cash' is persuing me for $3080.00 from a delinquent payday loan in Arizona from December 23rd 2010. She informed me I could settle the debt for $880.00 if paid in the next month. I agreed. I provided my debit card information and completed an e-signature via email for a payment agreement: $440.00 to be paid on 8/22, and $220.00 to be paid on 9/05 and 9/19 to a company listed as NCW Billing at PO Box 844 Amherst NY 14226. After attempting to find information on this company I decided to cancel my debit card and contacted a lawyer as there was no information online validating that 'Anderson Crum and Brown' is a legitimate law firm, and I don't recall ever having taken out a loan from 'US Fast Cash'. Today they contacted me regarding my missed payment and when I requested a written "validation of debt" and advised that I contacted a lawyer the same representative, Rachel Wilgus, told me I would be charged with felony fraud. I told her that my lawyer would be in touch and asked for the address of the firm. I was placed on hold and then transferred to a 'John Anderson' who provided the address 3719 Union Road Suite 221 Washington DC 22254.
I cannot find ANY information verifying Anderson Crum & Brown to be valid- business name, address, affiliated phone numbers...etc. The Better Business Bureau also has an alert to the company 'NCW Billing Inc': http://www.bbb.org/upstate-new-york/Business- ... t-ny-235973679/
I filed a complaint the with Federal Trade Commission: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/Information#crnt&panel1-1
I also plan to file a complaint with the FBI: http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx- Caller: 202-803-6143
- pocketsIf you were being served, they don't call you, the process server just comes to your door. The call is a scam.
- Resident47 replies to AndyNot saying one equals the other, but the message script here is eerily like those used by Rossi and Lombardi (aka R&L Capital / RL Capital / Kansas State Legal Services) in Cheektowaga, NY. It's the same ruse of false threats of arrest and process service over payday loan debt which is likely invalid or phantom. Their messages press for same-day response from the alleged debtor or "representation", and wish to scold recipients for being "uncooperative and noncompliant" with an "investigation".
Several annotated audio examples from early to mid-2013 are available if anyone wants to run comparisons to this ACB bunch. Most are performed by the same thug illegally adopting different aliases.

- Iwasn'tbornyesterday! These people called me today, 9/2/14. They first called from a private number telling me they were calling about a delivery for me on 9/4. I thought my hubby ordered something. I called the tel# they gave me with the case#. Rachel was very rude. i may have been rude first. She told me I had an outstanding debt. I made a pdl and then closed my Washington Mutual Account before it was to be paid off. Huh! I said! I have done PDLs in the past (stupid me!) but they were always paid off. I closed my wamu account and left it in good standing. At one point in the convo she told me she was calling from an attorney office and I was going to be served with court papers. She said I owed $3,000+ after interest and fees. Whatever!!! During the initial call she would not give me United CL's tel#. She said if I paid the loan off then I should have proof and she refused to send me evidence of the debt.
I immediately google United Cash Loans and found their website and tel#. They apparently were closed. I did see some info in the web that this was a scam. I called them back and told her I googled and found information telling me this is a scam. She laughed as if I was a moron and said I should hold for her supervisor. Some guy, John H came on the line. I think but am not too sure, that he introduced himself as Officer John something or other. Maybe he said agent. He was very polite and was very subtly threatening me with legal action.
He would not listen to much of what I had to say. He talked over me ignoring my questions and statements. I called them back several times so pissed! The last convo he told me to stop calling them and he didn't want anything from me. I am a little concerned though because they have at least the last 4 of my social security number. I put fraud alerts on the three major credit bureaus and my bank account.- Caller: ABC Assets or Investments

- Diana replies to MaryI just had a similar call today also saying from this "ACB Assets." They called my father's house and left this number and a case number for me to reference. It was a fairly sophisticated scam. I was put on hold and transferred to the assigned worker who then put me on hold to look up my claim. The man then came back on the line saying I had taken out a payday loan from "U.S. Fast Cash" that I never paid back. He then indicated that I could settle what I owe before I am served with a subpoena and my bank account is levied. I included more info about this call below.
At this point I would like to acknowledge that my ex-husband got a call today from this lady at phone number 740-315-4200 looking for me and asking if he was related to me. So I googled that number and sure enough the call was a lady doing a search and other individuals who received calls from her were told to call this 202-803-6143 number. Interesting that she provided the 202-803-6143 number. Now, back to my interaction with these people.
I think this is an organized crime ring... They have someone call doing a search as though it is a "due dilligance" effort to locate a debtor and then they have the people at the 202 number tell you that you owe money and to settle up. They told me they already subpoenaed my bank records to show that they deposited money into my account on a specific date and that the court agreed I owed the money and cleared me to be prosecuted. They couldn't say how much was deposited in my account but stated I owed nearly $3,600 and I should settle before I am served with legal papers and my bank account is levied. They even had my bank account number and recited it to me as proof they were telling the truth. Well I went back to my bank statement from 2010 and low and behold no deposit was made into my account on the date they claimed. Nevertheless, this was a more sophisticated scam call so I went to a new bank to open a new account since they had my bank information. I had to stop my direct deposit by my employer just in case and am now going to a different bank. These criminals have put me on an emotional roller coaster today. I feel completely victimized and will file a report with the FBI and at the other two links you provided. - mareseI got a phone last week at my work place. The lady that I talked to was very rude. And said that I needed to return their phone call ASAP or I will be served papers at work. The phone # that she gave was 202-803-6143 with case #666420. I called it back within 20 minutes, only to be hit with another very rude person. This time a guy. Who then told me that he was a lawyer and trying to collect from some payday loan place. I told him that I never got a payday loan from anywhere. It was not me. He then asked me in a rude way if I was getting angry with him. I said YES because you are not listening to me, I said I never got a payday loan, and then I hung up. I have not heard from them since.
