- Red| 4 repliesI am not receiving calls from this number. Rather, my phone is automatically dialing this number several times.
- Res replies to RedIt turns out this is the NoMoRobo number, which blocks Robocalls. My phone is operating correctly.
- MarkIn my call log it shows that I called this number. This is the number for no mo ro bo. The "call" that took place is the same time as an incoming call that was blocked. We didn't dial this number, but I guess it has to do with the blocking of the number.
- BAF| 5 repliesMy call log shows 3 outgoing calls to this number on 7/9/2015 another 1 on 7/14/2015 and 2 more on 7/15/2015. All of them are only a few seconds long with 9 seconds being the longest. The caller ID shows various callers - Research Center, Customer Service, Free Call Toll, Medical Aid and 800 Service. I made none of these calls. Based on Mark's comments of 25 June 2015, I just checked for incoming call log at the same times these supposed outgoing calls were made from my phone. Every time without exception, there was an incoming call from a different number but at the exact same time and date with the exact same duration and the exact same caller IDs show above. Obviously some sort of scam or fraud but I don't understand it.
- SMANYou are correct (above), it is the nomorobo number you typed in tp enable the nomorobo service.
- SMAN replies to BAFYou must have nomorobo as that is the number you would have entered to enable the nomorobo service. That's why each time you received a call, one went out to that number, so nomorobo could determine if the call is valid.
- NRThis is the number for Nomorobo's junk call blocker. Some services have you enter this number as an alternate contact/call forward so it can intercept incoming junk calls. It will then show up as an outgoing call whenever a number is blocked.
It shouldn't be showing up as an incoming call unless some cheeky spammer is spoofing it.- Caller: Nomorobo
- MacI too show in my Xfinity outgoing call log that I have placed bunch of calls to this number on a daily basis! I believe if any of us who have signed up for nomorobo receive an intercepted incoming spam-call, it gets forwarded to this number by nomorobo.
- Caller: WASHINGTON, DC
- Sheryl| 1 replyI have been charged for 24 calls to this number during the past month and I have made none of them.
- William replies to SherylWhat company provides you with telephone service ?
What kind of service is it? Cell phone, POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service), telephone provided by cable (Comcast, Time Warner), over the Internet (UVerse, MagicJack, etc.) ?
Does your service have simultaneous ring at no extra charge ?
Does your service give you long distance at no extra charge ? - RLB| 1 replyI signed up for this service through Comcast Xfinity. "Free" with my cable, voice, Internet service. Basically it re-routes a scam call, etc after only one ring to a blocker. It has really cut down on my irritation. It is called no mo robo and has not caused problems. It has given me peace of mind and cut down on these calls or at least me answering them.
- William Carr| 2 repliesI just rec'd my latest Comcast bill and I had 5 pages of listed calls I had made in August and September, 2015 from this 202-813-1600 #. I was charged $.05 per minute for a total of $9.75.
- Caller: I am not aware of who this is!
- Doug R. replies to RLBWe have this wonderful service too. There is no charge for the calls (we also have Comcast Infinity).
- Doug R. replies to BAF| 2 repliesThis is a service that blocks scam calls. It is free with Comcast Xfinity. Check with your phone or internet provider to see if it can be setup at no charge for you. You can stop it if you don't want it. My wife and I think it is an excellent service.
- littlepeaks replies to William Carr202-813-1600 is the number for the Nomorobo blocking service. When a scammer or telemarketer or (whoever) calls your phone number, the phone call is routed to this number, which picks up and immediately hangs up on the scammer. :-) The database of scammers, etc., is "cloud based". (Google nomorobo) BTW, you can not talk to anyone at this number.
- william j collinsThis number appears as one sent from my phone. It averages 3 to 4 times a day. I have nomorobo and it works well. You can call back the # and leave a message to desist. Sometimes you get voicemail and sometimes
you get a full mailbox. They are not alone but are the most persistent. - Michelle D. replies to William CarrWilliam Carr, you need to call Comcast, you shouldn't be charged for any of these calls as Comcast offers this through No Mo Robo, which you obviously signed up for because you can't get this function unless you sign up through their website. I have it and it costs me nothing to have on my landline. The calls do show up on my bill but no charge because the calls go through to them and then they block scammers from getting through on my landline. Just call Comcast, maybe you signed up but you were supposed to sign up via Comcast and the order didn't go through correctly and that is why you are being charged.
- Catherine replies to Doug R.I agree. Comcast call blocking will block 25 numbers FYI.
- CatherineJust learned how to look up my call history. We have Comcast and there dozens of calls from this number. We use nomorobo.
- Nanl| 4 repliesI'm confused. We've been receiving a lot of one-ring phone calls. My call log shows this number. Are you saying that this number is involved in blocking scammers? So I shouldn't block it??
