- Geo| 6 repliesI got a call and someone from Washington DC wants to speak to someone's Attorney or else he will start making some threats. This could be a from a bill collector.
- Call type: Debt collector
- Terry| 1 replyGot a call from this number, said it was IRS, but had very heavy accent and couldn't understand a lot of what was said. Think it is a scam of some sort as the IRS usually starts a dialog with letters. Called the number back and got a reply of IRS, which is not how a official phone is answered.
- Slim replies to TerryThere is a fairly common IRS or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers in both Canada and the USA.
USA tax payers should read this:
http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Reiterate ... -Telephone-Scam - CWG40 replies to GeoThey are most likely scammer/extortionists calling from India and pretending to be IRS employees. Ignore them.
See: http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Warns-of-Pervasive-Telephone-Scam - Sub| 1 replyGot a call from this number and they left a voicemail saying it was some officer and I need to give them a call by me or my attorney as soon as possible. He has a really thick accent so I couldn't understand much. When I called back, it sounded really sketchy so I hung up.

- sksApparently "IRS Officer Eric Foster" has been very busy the last 2 days. I thank you all for putting my mind at ease. Very heavy accent, stating if I do not call him back, "good luck to you." Also, spoke of having my attorney get in touch with him. He sooooo does not want my attorney to contact him. Eric Foster will surely rue the day!

- CDHJust got this call from the IRS saying I had to bring them money to their office right away. I hung up and called the police. They called back and said they were the police coming to get me so I handed the Phone to the officer and they hung up. Hope someone catches up with these people.
- heather zhang| 1 replyI got a call from this number and claimed IRS, If I am not followed their instructions, police will arrest me.
- locas replies to heather zhangThose are scammers trying to fool you. They are not from the IRS. They are trying to take money from you. Don't follow their instructions. It's a fake.
- DGK| 1 replyI was out of town and got a message from Robert Patrick who called from the Klien investigative services of the IRS, in regards to a time sensitive legal issue. I was told if I don't call right away "the problem will be all on me". No one answers when I call, the message says all circuits are busy. After reading these other posts I think this is a scam!
- Caller: IRS
- BigA replies to DGKThe IRS has its own investigative agents and doesn't hire outside contractors. Do not call these people back and do not engage with them. If you had tax problems the IRS would have sent you a letter by US postal service. If you ignored the first few letters, then they will send one by certified mail and you will have to sign for it.

It can never be said enough times, the IRS will never, ever make first contact by phone, E mail, Fax, Texts, or even smoke signals. - Do not call meFirst my 76 years old Dad was receiving calls from these guys trying to scam him by claiming he owes some money to IRS. I did call them back from blocked number and told them do not call him anymore. Now they are calling me, at my home number with the same "story"... These guys are so rude. Please do not speak with these guys and screen their number if your phone provider allows you to do so. I have a Comcast, which does allow to screen around 12 numbers at the same time, and this is what I will do.
- Caller: "IRS"

- Cathy replies to penny carterI got the same message today claiming he was Officer Eric Foster from the IRS. Had a very heavy accent and was hard to understand. Said that if I didn't call him back it would get me in trouble. I know for sure this was a scam since the IRS does not call people.
