CB - 13 Mar 2008I too received a call from this number, except I was at home. Reference phone number 877-204-9739. An man with a heavy Indian accent told me I won $1000 plus other stuff from an online sweepstakes. He gave me the above referenced phone number to call and make an appointment to claim prize. I have yet to research the validity in an format other than this forum.

Lisa - 7 May 2008This is actually a number that internet scamers are using in their ads. My neighbor just got scammed for a puppy sale. the guy used this phone number on his website. After doing some research I have found that alot of scammers are using this number. Don't call or answer if from this number.... By the way, if you see any ad from rogershome.tl it is a scam. He is placing ads everywhere on the internet to sell Yorkies, Maltese, and Bulldogs... He will take your money...

I also registered the phone number with do-not-call at www.donotcall.gov
to avoid future calls. I am emailing all my contacts NOT to use DISH NET no matter what they offer.

Alas Marline Knot - 6 Oct 2008I just recieved a call from my 14month long ex-room mate...the Arabic person (or so they sounded)Identifying himself as a personel of "HRLE" (a goverment services department in Canada)called, asked for me to which she replied I no longer lived there. He proceeded to ask her personal questions like "Who was she?", "What relationship did she have to me" & "Where I currently was." She told him that he should know these things and hung-up.
He recalled 15mins later and asked her, "Alas Marline Knot's friend" if he could sing her a song to which she greatly declined to which he insisted that he was a good singer and he'd sing her a song in Arabic. Being frightened she declined again and hung-up.
I see that it's a Connecticut number and that mostly random American's and a couple Canadian's have recieved similar calls from this person.
If any of this sounds like your experience please leave a message, I'll be monitoring this board until I find out how they got such dead on personal information about me. Especially when I know that other that my name; I NO WHERE have my phone number or government information entered anywhere...I'm not a "Enter your name, address and phone number here, here & here and you have a 1 in 1,000th chance to win $1,000,000" kind of girl. I do not even own a credit card to have ever even have possibly used one in a moment of weakness registering that kind of information online.

qahar - 17 Jun 2008I recieved a call from this number from a indian or pakistani guy who kept on telling me if we were interested in dish network. I told him that we are not and also that they should stop calling. He said I wont stop calling and I will keep on calling you forever. I knew hindi or urdo and I understood what they were saying in the background. He said something bad about my mom and my sister.
They are a$$holes and they will rob you if they want to.
If anyone gets a call from this number should immdiately call the local law inforcement and have their call traced.

You seem to be right ...a colleague called me from Israel on his "Israeli" cell phone ...I hesitated to pick it up ...but I did and was surprised.
Clearly a switching facility and used internationally - hence the calls people received at 1:30 am, 3am.

Mae - 16 May 2008I received a call from this number last night. Only, it was not a voice message – it was a “text to landline” message. The automated message then read off to me saying, “it is over. You need to stop it. And don’t call me anymore.” Weird.
I figured it was just a wrong number. But my son suggested that I Google it. Now I know it is a “switch whatever thing-a-ma-jiggy”. Thanks.
