I made the mistake of answering because it looks like a local number to me in Ct.. A badly accented male voice just blundered on with a spiel. He knew my name and what I drive. He tried to sell me a used auto warranty.I didn't acknowledge he had scored with his knowledge of my identity,I simply told him not to call back. These scum bags have surprising access to information.  

Had a call on my home phone. No one was there when I picked up. Glad someone else posted about this number.

After saying hello a couple of times, as I was hanging up, heard a guy that had some kind of Caribbean accent start to fumble asking to speak with .....

Hung up.

Received consecutive calls a couple of days apart, from  203-212-5492, by a man speaking very bad English in what sounded like an heavy Indian accent, trying to tell me that he was from some "Warranty Department", and wanted to know the mileage on my vehicle (he knew the year, brand, and model). These scammers also sent out a letter to our house that somebody went out of their way to make look like an official government-type agency, or some type of automotive manufacturer corporate statement. The purpose of the letter was supposedly to notify you that your manufacturers' warranty is up (which it isn't).
The guy goes right into his spiel after telling you he's from the "Warranty Department" and demands to know the mileage on your vehicle. This is undoubtedly a scam for some phony warranty contract, but these people's English is so poor, that most people wouldn't have clue as to what he's talking about. BTW, I'm on the no-call list, so I'll report this number as well.

Lots of chatter in the background, took me 3 "hello's" to get a response. He stated he was calling from Vehicle Processing Center and wants to verify the milage on my car for warrenty information. Knew what kind of car I had, and I did have it serviced at the actual dealership yesterday. I said "no thank you" and hung up.

Thanks to the previous postings for the info.  When I saw "Unassigned" on he caller ID, I didn't bother to answer.  I also got a card in the mail that said my car warranty is expiring and to act now.  I knew something was up when the card had no company name; nothing identifying my vehicle; nothing but "great plans available".  

Wow creepy. I should have known not to pick up an unrecognized number. Purports to be from the "Vehicle Processing Department" and knows what I drive. Immediately asks the mileage in a thick possibly Iranian accent. Sounded like there was about 100 of them making the same scam calls in a closet somewhere so I hung up

I just a call my 203-212-5492 and the caller ID shown UNASSIGNED. Not only did I not recognized the number, but when the ID shown from who, I knew not to answer the phone.  Does anyone ever treated the caller to make the call go their way?  I would love to read about some of those calls.  hahahaha!

yup.  same thing right now for a car i got rid of a while ago, said they were from the vehicle processing center and located in california.  on my cell no less.  they new the year and brand of the car.  Also said they were calling in conjunction with BMW, which I knew to be a bold faced lie.  accent noise, all of the above.  the Call Type below does not have sales call as an option, but that was what it was.

Get a call from this number all the time.  ID shows it as "unassigned".  Just got another one and didn't answer.  Even though I'm on the DNC list, the number of spammer/scammer calls is out of control!  Gotten so bad I just don't answer the phone at all unless I know exactly who it is that is calling.

I got a call today from this number, it was a woman she ask for my husband I said he was not home and ask who was calling her reply was I will tell you and phone went dead. I called right back because I have caller ID and the answering machine came on and say the office was closed and call back during normal business hours M-F but didn't give me the office hours.

They used to call about  year ago. Now it is happening again. I just don't answer, eventually they will give up.

I received 2 consecutive calls from 203-212-5492 with the caller ID coming up as 'anonymous.'  The first time I didn't answer because I don't pick up unknown calls and I googled the number and came across this website.  Today was their second call and I picked up out of pure curiosity to see what they would say.  A heavily accented man answered and I heard many other voices in the background like a call center. He said he was calling from "the warranty department" and was trying to sell me on renewing the warranty for a car I just got rid of (he knew make and model).  I told him I was on the DNC list and to not call me again and I never heard another word after that.

I have been getting this call from this number.  They have been calling for about 4 days now.  No messages are left and when I call back it says office is closed.  I picked up one time and they hung up on me.  After looking up this website I decided I won't be picking up any calls.  

I knew I shouldn't have answered with an "unassigned" number, but I did .......... same thing as those above have said.  Called the Acura dealer just to make sure it was phoney baloney and sure enough they told me not to pay attention to it.  Belatedly, I googled the number and got these great comments!  When they call back, will either not pick up, or, will reinforce the DNC.

Too many scams out there for too many things!
