Got a call from this number to lower my interest rate or press 3 to discontinue this notice. I didn't take the call but it left a voicemail.

Another spam. I'm on the do not call list and still get these.

The Do Not Call register is not protection against crooks.  They don't obey the laws about calling.  Many of them are outside the USA in any case.

Hitting 3 only confirms a live line with a person on the other end who picks up calls from unknown numbers and who is gullible enough to believe crooks tell the truth.  Crooks do not care about  the Do Not Call, since they are crooks.
Don't answer unknown calls.  Getting a call blocker might be a good way to get your phone back.

Received a call from this telephone number. No message was left. Tried calling the number back...adding the *67 prefix. Reached a Bell System recording saying that my call cannot be completed as dialed.

I called back and got a recording saying press "9" if you want to be taken off the call list. It disconnected before I could do that, so I called back and got the recording saying my call could not be connected. Tried again, same recording. Checked to see what number I had dialed, it was right. Being curious, I tried again and got the "press 9" recording. I did press 9, but am going to block the number on my side.

Didn't answer. Just pickup/hangup. You would think these people would get frustrated to keep getting no answer or answer hang up. I think the only way to get rid of this is just take the phone out. Wonder if then the phone companies would help stop this stuff?

Call to my cell. Didn't pick up. They didn't leave a message. Thankful for 800notes so I can tell what numbers are bogus. Hopefully, a new administration can put just a bit of funding into nailing these endless calls that interrupt work and family, and violate existing law. I know that surveys and political calls are allowed. But most are not those.

I've resigned myself to the fact that Spam calling is here to stay for landline and cellphone users.

The DNC registry has exceptions large enough to drive a car through...and...overseas outfits don't really care about the law.

How can I get this number/company blocked?  I have been on the do not call list since 2012.
Somehow these jerks get through.  It's a lower your interest rate scam.

"... spam calling is here to stay..."  Sad but true.  Want to know why?  Simple - big money.  Consumer Reports recently wrote an article that the FTC raided one of these criminals "boiler rooms" that allegedly took in $18 million!  That's $18 MILLION!  Yet, these scams continue.  The criminals simply set up somewhere else.  The Phone companies (i.e. Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc.) are complicit in these schemes.  Why?  Again, big money.  They charge so much for each phone line, and then so much for EACH call.  Neither the criminals nor the phone companies have the moral fiber to stop doing this.  Hopefully our government will (eventually) wake up and start doing their job -  representing the will of the people and really DO SOMETHING (not their usual nothing) to finally put an end to this b**sh*t.  Meanwhile, I advise everyone to not participate in this criminal activity, by NEVER giving out ANY information, such as any bank information, any part of your Social Security number, or any credit or debit card information.  There's an old saying "...you can't get screwed if you don't lay down..."  Meaning - you can't lose anything if you refuse to cooperate with these criminals!  I hope this is helpful to everybody,

I'm sick of this company calling me daily.  I have answered and told them to quit calling, that I am on a do not call list.  The just hang up and next time they call using a different number

I tend to think that these calls are originating overseas. The FCC has little...if any...clout in countries such as India and China.

The days of LECS making tons of money by installing groups of telephone lines for telemarketing firms are...pretty much...over. Using whitepages.com to reference these telephone numbers, one thing becomes quite clear. The vast majority of these numbers are owned by VoIP service providers as opposed to LECs.
