Accidentally left a four minute stream of profanity in my voicemail AND gave me an EXCELLENT opportunity to have a RECORDED background of a different person scamming some poor sap out of personal information.  I did hear the VERY indian operator say "Congratulations, you are approved by three colleges!"  Oh my, wasn't it someone's lucky day?  I will be calling the Arkansas Attorney General first thing tomorrow and set up an apointment to deliver this smoking gun.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

Just because a phone number may be in XYZ, does not mean it is!  Most of these illegal callers are using spoofed numbers. Along with that is also the possibility that they are using someone's real phone number or a real business's number.

This is a new one for me, they must have changed their # thinking I'll pick up.  I get calls  from this # 3x/day.
Someone mentioned buying call blocking  equipment -  government should charge these people extra (instead of the "less than 1cent per call").  Maybe I'm just cranky but these kinds of calls are getting out of hand!

I wouldn't be a bit surprised. IMHO, I believe that the purpose of the majority of these scams is to fund terrorism. Just my two cents...

Called 4 times a day always asking for my spouse. When I asked who was calling, they hung up. Finally, I searched for scam numbers and found this stream. I just blocked it on my phone system.
