I got a call from 414-462-5902 (https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-414-462-5902) one day, and from this number the next- I listened to the beginning of the recording and then hung up.  They said this was the SECOND notice that the "warranty on my vehicle was about to expire".  Guess this is a continuation of the scam/attempt to gather personal information.

This is a sales call from an car warranty insurance company that MIGHT not be licensed to even sell you a car warranty. The spin is something like this is the SECOND and FINAL notice that your car warranty is about to expire.

The Oklahoma insurance Commissioner issued an order for one company taht was calling Oklahomans to stop it because they were NOT licensed to sell insurance in OK. they were from AR. I'm getting caller ID's showing they are calling from IL, CT, FL, and other states.

These people have found my work and cell numbers both should not be available anywhere. They refuse to remove my numbers from their lists and the calls keep coming. I have spoken to a rep twice they simply hang up.

SCAM about car warranty - same recording that came in earlier from "Nebraska," but this was from "Connecticutt."

They called me today while I was running errands, I didn't answer. When I got home a little bit ago I called them back and received a recording saying the number was out of service. Thought I dialed wrong and tried again, same thing. I don't even own a car or truck and am way too poor to own one new enough to have a warrenty. This is really a bummer.

As most of you know by now, these auto warranty calls are low-life scam artists who "spoof" legitimate phone numbers, which hides the actual phone number they are calling from.  Best bet is not to answer if you do not recogonize the phone number, thereby saving being billed any minutes.  You should never give out any personal or financial information if you do make the mistake of talking to these telemarketing scum because you run the risk of ID theft. Also, asking to be taking off their list doesn't work because they are already breaking the law.  Several states are investigating them but it doesn't seem they are having any luck tracing the origin of the calls.  Google "Auto Warranty Scam" for more details.

Hang up calls keep coming into my cell phone. They started after I bought a new car 7 months ago, which makes me think the dealership is giving out personal information.

Isn't there a lawyer getting these calls, we all need to sue them and put it on tv so everyone knows who they are. My family has better things to do than to worry about these calls. I have already had AT&T put my whole family on the do not call list, and we still get the calls. I would love to find out who these people are. They won't like it when I do.

call is from 500 River Rd, Cos Cob, CT 06807, in a neighbor hood of $1M HOMES.  Can see from google earth this is a VERY big house.

The call is not from the Cos Cob, CT address!  However, its phone number is being "spoofed" (used as a cover) by the auto-dialer making the calls. They use different telephone numbers to hide behind so they won't be caught.

I get a lot of calls on my cell phone like this one.  I refuse to answer unless I know who is calling, and I've disabled voice messages.  My answer on cell phone tells who ever is calling just to call my home phone number instead, and I don't provide my home number of course!  That way, only people who really know me can call my home phone number.

These people are calling cell phones illegally by using a recorded message. I wish someone would stop them.  I think only the phone companies have the resources and ability to stop these people, but they won't because they make more money by letting these illegal calls happen.

The only way that phone companies will be willing to do ANYTHING, is when these calls COST them instead of generating profits.  If everyone did what I do, I think the phone companies might be willing to take action.

Here's my suggestions:

1) Never answer unless you know who is calling.
2) Never listen to voice mail over your cell phone ... turn it off if possible.
3) Use an answering machine on your home phone to screen callers.
4) Leave a message on your cell phone instructing callers to call your home phone, but don't give out the number!

This will reduce the revenue generated to the phone companies from these illegal cell phone calls, and the usage of the phone companies' networks will eventually cost them $$$.  They may eventually get involved if enough of us do this.  Spread the word!

Trying to sell my wife an extended warranty on our car.  Coincidentally, we have an extended warranty which is just about to expire.  She thought it was Honda offering to extend it further.  When they clearly knew nothing about us or the car, she got suspicious.  The timing was interesting.  Is there public data on current car warranties?  Or are these just random calls?

Great strategies with one flaw. When it comes to emergency it is hard to know who the call will be from. Of course and hopefully, this is a very rare occurrence for everyone.

I, too, received a call with a partial message to press a number. I wonder how does these people get paid. By how many people they can annoy, perhaps? I pretty sure people is not that dumb any more to fall for their sell pitch.

Received a call on my office phone. Did not answer (was not in office at the time). No message left. Searched the phone number on Superpages.com. No listing. Googled the number, and found that others have reported this number as a call about a car warranty.

Keep receiving calls on my work cell from this number. I've been told if the call is to a cell phone, hit the number 2 key when they call and it will remove you from their list. Have not tested that, but anything is worth a try to stop these illegal pests.

I just received a call from this number with a recorded voice telling me "this is the SECOND notice that the warranty on your vehicle is about to expire".  My vehicle is a 1996 Truck with over 200,000 miles on it.  I don't think it would be under any type of warranty even if I wanted it to be.  This is the 5th call from a telemarketer (in the last week) to my cell phone that I don't give out to anyone but my family.  Very annoying.
