Got a call from this number, asking to speak to the person in charge of the Electric bill. I asked t take a message and they said they were from the Discount Energy Program. I had received calls a few months back from a similar scam out of California. If they were legitimate and from my Electrical company, they would know the name of the person on the account, and the number. Do not give your information to anyone that claims to want to save you money but you have to give them info. It is ALWAYS a scam....

Received a phone call this afternoon from this number but didn't answer.....

Got a call from this company today.  The gentleman went through his money saving energy speech and then asked for my account number.  I told him that I don't do anything over the phone and he didn't say another word.  Interesting!

The caller ID name showed "Norwalk CT"

I did not answer the call, and they did not leave a message.

Got a call this afternoon and ignored it after googling.  I've switched my electric supply company already and don't need cold calls.  BTW - Standard Oil has the best electric rates.

calls relentlessly, never leaves a voice mail. I'm amused that this is a energy supplier... I'm my own supplier.

If you were smart consumers you would actually read the information the electric company sends you INSIDE YOUR ELECTRIC BILL about the Energy Choice Program. These people are calling you to help you out... cut them a break and stop being so mean to the people who call you on the phone to help you save a few dollars. They work hard all day just like you do to pay their bills. Stop thinking that everyone who calls you is out to get you! I mean really think about it... Why would the electric company send you the information if it is a scam?

There are only 2 things people can do with your electric bill account number
1. pay your bill and,
2. enroll you in the energy choice program

If they start asking for personal info like your social security/credit card number then you should be be wary but all the other info is required to enroll in the Energy Choice Program.

it was amazing, the girl i talked to was so nice and explained everything to me.

I  am a grown adult and I do read what the electric company sends me.  If I wanted to change anything I WOULD CALL THEM!!!  I do not need to be bothered with phone calls who do not have the common decency to leave a message.  I have a sickly father and every time the phone rings my heart drops.  I also am on the no call list!!!
