Called to tell me I was selected to receive a 9000.00 grant from the us government, asked me to verify my name and address which he gave to me.   He said his name was Sam Johnson and he was with the us government grants office.   Then he gave me a grant reference number and told me to call his boss, Henry Foster, at 202-407-9185 which is a known scam number

Same as above in part, received call from 203-923-4781.  Woman in bad broken-English named Christine called and told me I was approved for a $9,000 grant from the Federal government.  In disbelief, when I asked which department she hung up the phone.

Same as above.  Knew it was a scam.  I told them to "donate" the money to the US Gov. to help the national debt, result they hung up!  Is it a wonder who these idiots are?!

Received it on October 22, 2013 saying his name was Eric and was calling from a US Government from Washington D.C. and on my phone it said WIRELESS CALLER from BRIDGEPORT, CT. Had a crazy Indian accent and cant even say the name properly I just hung up on him

Computer call. I said hello 3 times and a person finally picked up. Asked to talk to Ashley. I told her there was no Ashley at this number. She just hung up. No "sorry for the wrong dialing" or anything. Rude people, I wish they could be found and fined for breaking the law.

I JUST received this call some non speaking English woman could barely understand what she was saying saying they want to give me 1000.000 dollars I asked questions and she replied " you don't have the right to ask me those stupid questions" im only asking QUESTIONS for me own safety yes I have ALL RIGHT TO DO THAT!

Some guy with a Middle Eastern accent claiming to be from a US Government office called me, and had my name. My cell phone said the call was from CT USA. The phone had a bad delay, so I said "I can't hear you" and hung up.

Answered call from the aforementioned number and no one spoke.  A total waste of time!

They have called me twice everyday now for the past 3 weeks.  I don't answer it and when it goes to my voice mail they hang up.  After reading all of the other complaints I a glad I didn't answer the phone but I don't think that they will ever stop calling.

I keep getting these annoying calls.  When I answered, and hear they with a foreign accent, I just hang up.

Was called by mr. Alden smith, he told me I was selected to receive $9,000 for a grant from the gov't. He read me my name, address and phone number. Told me a confirmation number and the phone number of his manager to contact about the money, crystal Atkins. Be careful of these people, they're creepy!

Just got a call saying I had a check of 9000 dollars from the us gov they said they were calling from Washington DC they read my name an address an then asked me how I wanted my money in my bank account or by check then asked if I had a mailing address physical address gave me another number to call said I could speak with his boss Brittany

I just had the same damn call.  It is very annoying especially when you can't understand half of what they are saying!  Very glad I didn't keep listening to them

I had the same experience as many of the other posters.  I told the man to put my name on the do not call list.  He didn't say anything for around 30 seconds, so I repeated my request my name be put on the do not call list and the man said, "Hang up you [***]."

This is our governments fault for not jumping on these phone companies. We all pay about $14.00 a month in cell and home phone charges.  Thanks Mr. Clinton and NAFTA for all this international trade.

The caller ID said CT, however, the guy calling had difficulty speaking English. He did not pronounce my name correctly, and before he could say what he was calling for I DEMANDED OF HIM, "DO NOT EVER CALL THIS NUMBER, AGAIN. WE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN ANYTHING YOU ARE OFFERING"

i got a call from this number as well. i refuse to give out my bank account info to a "stranger" i asked them to donate the grant money to help pay off the national debt in my name..l i was hung up on.. they hurt my feelings, lol

Just received a call, did not answer as I had a call earlier from a number who asked my name & then hung up. (1-813-252-2835)

I used to work for one of the leading banks in their repossession department. If you say these words to ANY bill collector, or any business in general- by law they have to acknowledge. But unless you also send in writing (it's been awhile, but I believe it's 30 days) they can call back. By bear in mind, you are severing communication with them. If you are about to lose your car- it's better to work it out, than dodge them.
