I never liked people who cannot identify themselves.

I do not like receiving calls from people who do not identify themselves. I was asked for information which I will never divulge to persons unknown.

Do not call again.

Was left a message for wrong person with same last name as myself. Was left a message to call back but not given reason for call.

Called asking for a Derek, then asked if I live on 26th Street which was my old address or if I knew this person!  This is a collection agency, wonder if someone used my old address and number for something "fishy".

this is the second time i have recieved this call........asking if i knew so and so and if i did or didnt to please call them back.........why would someone call me and ask if i knew someone and if i didnt to call them back anyways......i think these ppl are scammers.....they need to get a life and stop calling ppl if they have no clue who they are actually looking for......and it would be nice when leaving a msg if they would SAY who they are for once!!!!

Keep phoning telling me they have bell aliant mail returned to them. Told me name number and birthdate but won't give real information, just want to put my call through with another extension and other extension never replies.

This number is calling my number since a couple of weeks.
I have no clue who they are and they are asking for a person i don't even know.
I told them once not to call here again and they don't comply
I have reported them to the CRTC.

They called again today!

Called a business demanding I put their call through to some random name.  Didn't even bother to check and see if they worked for us.

Proven way to stop these calls......

Answer, speak immediately so the computer will transfer to a live person. Then have fun with it, tell them you are so interested, but keep doing things, like answering doorbell, getting pen and paper, getting credit card.

The more you can waste that live person's time (and wages) will get you off call lists faster than any "do not call" list. I do this, and they never call again, and I have rarely been getting new calls.

Hit them where it hurts, the wallet.

If a nice percentage of people did this, all telemarketing would probably stop...

Called for previous owner of Phone Number, as many company's have.
Check thier website, some pretty dubious practices they use , they must be very close to operating illegally

This number has been calling and calling and there is never anyone on the line, just the 'click click' of the computer hanging up on me.  So I called the number back and a live person answered the phone and told me they were a collections agency and that she would put me through to an agent.  So the agent comes on the phone and tells me his company name where he is located (he tells me Edmonton) even though the number that calls and that I called back is a 204 area code.  He then tells me they have an office in Winnipeg.  So he punches my digits into his database and I'm figuring he'll come up with a name and address of someone who is not me, but instead, says, sorry, your number is not in our database.  Well WHY then, is this number on my phone every day??  No one ever leaves a message, no one every speaks when I answer the phone.  I'm getting annoyed that this person doesn't even have an explanation for me.  He can't take me off a 'list' because I'm not in his computer to begin with!  He tells me next time someone calls to get their name, well for crying out loud, there's never anyone there!!  How do I get their name?  I've never owed anyone money in my life and we have had this same phone number and address for over a decade.  I'm doubtful that calling them back will stop them from calling here but it was worth a try since the last telemarketer who annoyed me, when I called them back, it told me the number wasn't even in service!!  My husband had a similar call on his cell phone of all things, which is strange because his cell is a work phone and not a personal phone.  I am not sure if it was this same company or not (it was a 1-866 number I believe) but in this instance they asked for a person we had no idea who it was and they've never called back since.

Asked for a person unknown to us and nothing else? Strange, without further research and reading the other reports, assume a collection agency looking for someone. We are retired empty nesters (for many years) and have no idea who they wanted. Not sure how to get our number "off their list" but will report to DNC.

They called here and the same as another post, asked for some of the same last name as us but not any of our first names. Left a case number and toll free number and extension to call back. Super annoying for sure!

these guys are calling me every single day and leaving me voice mails, the person on the other end sounds really sketchy too, you can not even hear them ... stop calling me you A-- hole
