Just got a call from this number (Brandon, Manitoba). Recording: "all of our operators are busy, please stay on the line".
Normally would have hung up but wanted to vent as we are on Do Not Call List. Stayed on the line but it went dead.

Got a call from Banister (780 - Edmonton area code) last night. Turned out to be a Polling / Survey company (who can legally call you in spite of DNC Lists). I told the lady that she was getting paid to talk to me, but I wasn't getting paid to talk to her. So take  me off of your list. She politely agreed.

They called me at 8 AM on a Saturday.

They hung up before four rings.

ITS A DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY COLLECTING ON FILES OLDER THAN 10 YEARS. THEY BUY FILES FOR PENNIES AND TRY TO COLLECT ON BILLS THAT ARE NO LONGER ON PEOPLES  CREDIT BUREAU.

A woman called...did not introduce herself but started asking personal questions about another person.  Politely told her it was none of her business if I knew this person she was calling for.....asked her if my name showed up when I returned the call...and hung up. I reported the number asap.
