Has been calling my cell for the past week, no message, call the number back and got The office of CVB no 411 listing

I've been getting calls from this # for the last 2 weeks same thing no message, it's pissing me off. I won't answer it because I don't know the #.

I have been getting a lot of harassing phone calls from this number  I do not have any outstanding debts so have no idea why they keep calling me. I also get calls and when you answer all you hear is music playing. How do you stop these calls?

They ask for confirmation of who they are calling;
if you are mr. X press 1
if you are not him press 2
if you do not know him and would like to be removed from our call list press 3

calls non stop and when you answer the call is terminated.  I try calling back and you sit on hold indefinitely.

This company added insult to injury by calling me about a fully paid account, and leaving a full five minute message on my voicemail consisting of tacky music interspersed with a voice saying "we are calling about an important financial matter, pardon the delay, someone will be with you shortly."  Then I get to waste a full five minutes of MY cell phone time listening for the "important message" which amounts to an operator coming on and saying "hello?"  They have done this TWICE in the past two days.

Just do what 'hugo' indicated in his post...

Press 3.  (I tried pressing 2 and the system wanted me to prove who I was by providing personal info...screw that and screw those clowns).

Not sure 3 will work, but at least it is worth a try.

I just called their after hours line and left a message stating that I am not who they are looking for and requested that they remove me from their list...if they don't, at least I have a record of the call and some legal standing if they keep harassing me after this point.

Their general mailbox directed me to 'Chris Enriques'? with some government accounts department...maybe just a bogus claim or they are calling someone about student loans or tax debts?

What a bonehead this "Dave" is. I lisitened for 5 minutes, pressed 3 to have my number erased. Dave came on and asked for the person again. I said I have no idea who he was talking about. Seriously, and please quit calling.
He told me I must know otherwise how would he get my number.
I argued I had no idea and please quit calling.
He said I was lying. Next stop MTS and the cops for harassing phone calls

They called me because I had an outstanding speeding ticket from a camera light that I did not receive when the Postal Strike was on. It was sent to COLLECTIONS :(

City of Winnipeg sends their outstanding traffic tickets to this collection agent

Calls me everyday for a week now at 7-730 am!

Called and ask to speak to me, I asked who was calling. Asked for my birthdate. Again I asked who's calling and what for? Said give my birthdate and he'd tell me. I said "Uhhhh no, that's not how it works, tell me who you are and what you want."

This banter went on for a bit, then he asks if I've ever lived at "such and such" address. NO! I never have dude, you have the wrong guy - don't call me anymore.

Said he'd keep calling until he got the info he wanted and I replied "The phone company and police have ways of dealing with people like you so stop calling me."

Never called again.

City of Winnipeg eh? Prov of MB too maybe? You think they're calling about a $45 seatbelt ticket I got near Elkhorn about 1985????

Isn't 27 years a bit late?

They spoke with my boyfriend and they said he owed a couple of fines from 1997.  He was asking why they were contacting just now if he owed these, the fines he said sounded like they were bogus.  One he was driving with a passenger without a seatbelt, he didn't even have his license then so I am sure there would have been more to deal with while driving with no license, that didn't make sense.  Plus another for having open alcohol.  He figures that its either someone else or someone else used his name.  Just sounds totally sketchy.

I also received severall calls during the day..........once left a vm with the music etc.  Finally one night someone called and asked for me.  I had answered and he said he was calling about something that went to collections from the province of Manitoba...but first he neededmy birthdate to confirm who I was......I paused for a second and said I'm not giving you that info.  He said but it is from the province.........still not giving my birthdate.  He finally made some comment about it going further and hung up on me...........sounds like everyone has a similar story..............

no they don't i just phoned the city of winnipeg because my husband is being harassed by this same # for fines supposedly from 17 years ago. the folks i talked to said the city uses Hook Ventures for collections.  and after doing a search my husband owes the city nothing according to their records
