wanted to speak to someone else and i said wrong number then they would continue to call and hang up before i could answer

called and asked for someone else i said wrong number and then they would call again and hang up

A Miss Evans called, asked for me to call her(but she called me a different first name, not mine).  "she had a business matter here in the office that needed my immediate attention". please call her at 866-728-2098 extension 124 until 5 PM. toll free.

P.S.  Miss Evans said she was with Cloud & Tidwell. The number on the called ID was 205-201-7270

Call from Nancy.  Said she was from a law firm in Alabama.  Asked if I was a relative of someone.  Asked me to have this relative call her.  I asked how she got my information and she said they have resources that show who the nearest relatives are.

They are a collection agency, trying to collect a past debt;  mine has been charged off so therefore there is no need in paying it as it will not change
your credit rating.

So are you all saying that this is a collection agency and not a legitimate law office?

Received a call from the 201 #. Before I gave them info, I asked them for verification of who and what they were. An invoice, anything. Would not give me anything, so I refused to answer until they could show me they were legitimate.

I received the same message on my phone but she  asked for my ex-husband.  She had my number, not his.  Does anyone know for sure if this is a collection agency?

Yah they called me stating they were Cloud and Tidwell (though it sounded like Cloud and Chitwood) Attorneys at Law. I think they are misrepresenting themselves as an attorney's office when they are probably only a collection agency.

if your in the houston area, they collect debts for over due hospitals.

Ummm...you're wrong. It will change your credit rating when it reflects as a paid charge off instead of an unpaid charge off. Once it is paid, then it starts clocking time to fall off your bureau completely.

I got the same odd feeling about this place.  I called the Better Business Bureau and they had no information on Cloud & Tidwell, LLC, but referred me to the Birmingham Bar Association and they said that Brian M. Cloud was in good standing.  So it appears to be a hybrid law firm/collection agency (working in conjunction with the odious AmShare Collections Agency).  As much as I despise they horrible people and their profession, it appears they have followed the rules and cannot be as easily ignored as most of us might wish...

You are so wrong.  Paying off a charged off debt will not improve your FICO score, it will lower it.  In addition, once you make a payment and something happens that you cannot pay it in full, the clock starts at the time of the last activity until 7 or 10 yrs before it is legally removed from your credit file.   So, if you are in default on an account and cannot commit to paying the account in full or  to a payment plan, do not be intimidated into making a payment because it will then take another 7 -10 yrs from that payment date before it is removed from your credit file.

Had several calls from Amsher collections and then Cloud and Tidwell.  Neither one could provide info on the hospital debt they claimed to be collecting only a $ amount.  The callers name was Jill.

I received the same call.  Yes, they are a collection agency.  Some represent themselves as attorneys.  However, they are not.  I recorded them and was ready for court.  I sent them the request for productions and never heard from them again.
