This number just called my today saying that they were like Groupon, but the name of there company is Wakanetwork basic savings(.com).  They wanted to send my dad a $50.00 gift card.  I kept asking the lady if there was a catch?  What are the shiping charges if any she never did say.  She asked me what state did i live in and she kept repeating my dad's email address.  I told her that he wasn't here and to call back.  But then she said that whoever picked up the phone gets the card!  She became a little agitated, but who cares she never answered my question.  So then she asked had I ever used groupon or livingsingle sites before.  I told her, no because i think that it was crazy and backwards that you have to buy something in order to use a coupon offline any way.  I mean I use coupons but I print them off or get them out the paper and use them if i want to and besides they have exp. dates!  I looked up the website on google, and bing and nothing came up but stupid Waka Waka, Waka Flocka... I'm like somethings up and I know that they're a people and companies out there wanted to get your info!  In conclusion she did ask me if i had medical insurance.  I said what does this have to do w/ the coupons?  She said that they would send us coupons to help save us on medical bills and Rx's.  So when i told her yes i had insurance.  I never gave her my full name and it took her a minute to give me name of the account of the email address.  This was a little skeeecttchy!

Just received a call from this number. The lady on the other end said I won something. Couldn't understand her because it was a lousy connection. She wanted me to confirm my email address so they could send what ever it was to my email address. I said 'no' and hung up. I'm on the 'no call list' but it doesn't seem to help.

Got a call on my cell about getting a $50 gift card for Wakanetwork.com's service or whatever. they ask to confirm your e-mail address and ask for your name, DON'T GIVE YOUR LAST NAME (its bad enough if you confirm the e-mail, i just used a spam account).

They say the gift card is free "no catch" bs but whatever. They share every piece of your personal information they can get their hands on.

The e-mail where you can get the card is free, i just don't know if they charge you for the phone call.

        Be careful, they'll just speed through all the benefits of their service, who they are partnered with, how you can try a 14 day trial for $2.98 and cancel at any time, or get a better membership blah blah blah... and then try to confuse you by giving you customer service numbers. Then they have the balls to, without hesitation, ask how you would like to pay for your membership.

if youre not careful you could inadvertently enter into a verbal contract saying you will join their membership even if you didn't mean too. or if you use that gift card and probably go thru creating an account with waka, they'll find a way to screw you.


if you wanna have some fun with them, ask to talk to a supervisor and ask how they got your number. they'll give you scripted bs but just pretend like you are a special type of restricted cell phone number and they are violating international laws by calling that number for commercial reasons. If their english isn't that good it'll be a blast. enjoy

Just got a call from this number. I didn't recognize it but still answered as I felt it might be a friend borrowing someone's cell and could be in distress. No one answered and I immediately googled the number. I am so annoyed to read others have been called from this number and its nothing but a scam. I pay good money for privacy of my home number and it this is outrageous!
Something needs to be done!

I just got a call from them as well... I don't give a crap about a 50.00 gift card, it USUALLY comes with a price. Whatever it is I don't want it!!! AND I hear there is a bill in congress about allowing robo calls to cell phones? I don't want this crap!!! I don't even want it at home! I wish there was a way to reach through the phone and pop them in the head!!!!! Thanks!

Just got a call from a woman (middle-eastern accent) claiming that I won a $50 gift card and they would email it to me after I confirmed my info. I asked how they got it and she said b/c I made a purchase online or by phone with one of their "network providers" I asked who and she said "very good question" then went back on to her SALES script. I told her I never entered to win anything and asked again where she got my info from she got snippy and demanded I confirm my email and contat info. I told her obviously you got my info from somewhere so she already had it. Again she got very snippy telling me just to give her the damn email address. At that point I politely told her she could stick it where the sun doesn't shine and ended the call. Obviously a scam of some sort, the woman wouldn't even tell me the name of her company! What a joke.

The lady called home phone about getting a $50 gift card. I told her I'm not interested in and asked her to remove my number from her list since I register DO NOT CALL. However, she was harassing to send the gift card to me.

I got a call from this number, too; it did not leave a message, however, but I was able to call back and tell the representative to remove my number from the calling list.

It took a while for the person to respond on the other line (clearly it was robo calling and when a live person connects, they find someone to actually pick up the call).  They claimed I won a $50 gift card and then asked for my email address.  At that point, I just hung up.  The number was US, but the call was from a call center in the Philippines.

Told them I didn't want their $50 (seemed surprised)...and they kept asking for my email address. I said "it's not for sale" . But M'am....  Had to hang up. This is my WORK number they are calling which is also on DNC list.

you sure they're from Philippines? how do you know? so you mean its fake, about that $50 gift card? someone called me also saying that i won a $50 gift card. And after a while they are asking me about my credit card info but i didn't give it. I received the $50 gift card but i didn't use it because i don't see any promos in their website

I got the same call. Somehow, they can make their iphone call you and make it look like someone eles show up on ID. There are spy programs on the market to follow you anywhere you go and ease drop on your phone. Be careful what you get on text.

Just received a call from this number. The woman didn't even say hello before saying she  was from the Waka Network and I needed to provide an email address because I had won a free $50 gift card. She was difficult to understand (the connection was bad, she had a pretty heavy accent, and she wasn't making much sense) and kept saying 'Is that Ok?' to which I repeatedly said that it wasn't. I told her we were on the National Do Not Call registry and asked how she got our number and she said someone in our household had provided it, which was definitely a lie. This seems like a total scam to me.

Someone from this phone number called and said I'd won a free gift card. They called my cell phone which is unlisted except through companies I've ordered from. I'm surprised that they would have gotten my phone number. I did not provide any information as I was suspicious of the call.

This # just called me.  Googled and found this page.  Same as other commenters, I said hello, then long pause and a hang-up.  I called the number and a representative came on the line so I told her to remove me from the call list and that I am on the DNC list.  She asked didn't I want my gift card?  Told her no remove me from their call list.  Somehow they don't sound like they intend to remove it, but she said she would.  Those violating the Do Not Call registry can be prosecuted by the AG of your state.  Happened in KY and a Nevada company laid off pestering people FAST once the suit was filed.

THIS MAY BE A SCAM. This may be a version of the advance-fee-for-something scam where something is a grant, grant paperwork, business plan, loan, scammed-money refund, lottery winnings, interest rate reduction, tax reduction, gift card, refund, doggie, cruise, vacation, free gas, etc., and the advance-fee is for tax, shipping, registration, insurance, secure handling, processing, etc. They may send you a fake check, may want your credit/debit card or bank account number, or tell you to wire cash via Western Union, Moneygram, etc. They can put recurrent difficult-to-cancel monthly charges or a 1-time charge on your card or bank account, and sell account info to other criminals and you'll have to replace accounts altogether. Wired-cash is irretrievable - once it's picked up at the other end, it's untraceable and gone. If they want you to call them up for instructions, they may tell you not to discuss the wire with Western Union desk clerks but the real reason is WU clerks are familiar with these scams and will warn you not to wire the money. If you give them the WU Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) for the wire, they can pick up the money from anywhere in the world. Report to US Postal Service Inspectors https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG, as appropriate.

They have called me a couple time and ion the no call list but it doesn't seem to help.

Once you go online and have a pop up or click on anything to win anything you are taking off of the do not call list and are put on the call me list. Its all in the fine print dear. I am myself a telemarketer and its a job that provides the roof over my child's head but I still feel I should let you know this. I get the "I'm on the do not call list" all the time and sadly the people don't know federal law on the matter but seeing how it is my job I do. I hope this helps with further interactions with phone sales people. Also you have to put your name on the Federal do not call list and again I you or anyone who uses your computer clicks on the wrong thing you get take off of it. Have a wonderful day mam

After the fourth missed call I too said Hello...And same as all above. I gave no info and hung up. Too bad that is their lifes calling. I pitty those poor souls.
