Portfolio Recovery Debt Collectors is who belongs to this number. I already told these fools to stop calling my number as the person they are looking for no longer belongs to it. They did stop calling, but after just 3 months they are obviously calling again. Next is a cease and desist letter to them then if they dont stop the next stop is a lawsuit in court.

How do they have so many numbers??  Considering changing my number.  Get calls all the time for whomever had our number last!

Scum sucking debt collector calling on Sunday

It's Portfolio whatever and even after I called them back to clear up that I have this number now and I don't have any debt, they still call me three or four times a day from various numbers trying to collect on someone else's debt and even that person might not owe them anything.  This is the latest incarnation of the number.

AND... another number for these guys - spam filters caught this one also!!!

Violation of FTC laws of harrassment. If we all keep reporting them, the fines will make them stop!! Take the time to report them please! Also, add in Tonys numbers and block them...it's an awesome thing! I just add their new numbers as they get them and click block this caller. :)

These people are relentless! Calling and blowing me up on a Sunday! Unbelievable! Not to mention all of the other days of the week that they call all day long.

According to the FDCPA, they can call you on Sunday UNLESS you tell them otherwise:

Communication in connection with debt collection   [15 USC 1692c]
(a) COMMUNICATION WITH THE CONSUMER GENERALLY.  Without the prior consent of the consumer given directly to the debt collector or the express permission of a court of competent jurisdiction, a debt collector may not communicate with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt --

(1) at any unusual time or place or a time or place known or which should be known to be inconvenient to the consumer. In the absence of knowledge of circumstances to the contrary, a debt collector shall assume that the convenient time for communicating with a consumer is after 8 o'clock antimeridian and before 9 o'clock postmeridian, local time at the consumer's location...

Just got a call from this people today (Monday) at 10:15am central.

Dont change your number, send them a cease and desist letter by certified mail. If they dont stop after that sue them because they will be in violation. If you send a letter telling them to stop, they have to.

Yes they can call on Sunday's and yes they can collect on debt that it over 7 years old. They could collect on debt that is 100 years old if they want, they just cant sue you if the sol ran out. Thats why you send them a letter saying it is past the sol and to stop contacting you about it.

and never agree to pay them... even 1 $ is enough to restart the SOL clock over again and give them a legal means by which to sue.

Just got a call from them at 8:58 on a Sunday morning.  They've been calling for months now, even though I have no bad debt and never have... obviously looking for someone with a similar name or something.  Is a cease-and-desist order really the only way to end these jerks?

FYI - The reason why they have so many numbers is because they have a PBX system.  I worked for Avaya (a spinoff of lucent tech).  They might only have 20 lines (as an example). but they can call Avaya or whoever their pbx company is, and have them change the phone numbers on each line - at will.  they can have it display on your caller id ANYWAY THEY WANT IT TO WITH ANY NUMBERS OR LETTERS THEY WANT IT TO. That's what they pay their pbx company to do for them.
