Called wanting money for sherrifs for a program I don't believe exists

Some guy called 5/09/2010 at 5:06 PM.  Did not identify himself or state the purpose of his call.  This was Mother's Day and why would anyone other than a family member call?  I immediately told him he had a wrong number and hung up.

Called me on May 17 2010 didn't say anything.

I got a call from my parents saying that a man with a deep voice called and asked for me by first name and when he was told that I was not there and if he wanted to leave a msg he hung up. I do not have any idea how he got my name with a number that I have not lived at for years. Creepy.

Received a call from this number .... Dead noise on the other line

Just got a call from this number today, 6/29/10...It was to my parents house, and he asked for me by my first name...My step dad answered the phone and said it sounded like this person knew me,like it was an old friend.When i call the number back it's disconnected.

The number just called me and didn't answer. but when i called back it was disconnected.

Same thing, this number called my house tonight, I answer and no one responds finally i start hearing a busy tone.  I tried calling the number back and the operator says this is not a working number.  How is this possible?

Same thing happened to me today.

Got a call just now (7:50 p.m. Oct 3, 2010). Silence on the other end. "Unknown Caller." I should have known better than to answer.

I also live in Blount County, Wally and I just received a call from this number.5:30 p.,m.  I keep the ringer of my phone off so I just noticed that they called.  This is a new one on me. It's obviously a cell phone number.  I've been getting a lot of those lately.  I never answer if I don't recognize a number.

Called two consecutive evenings, when I answered, no one was there

Yeah, they keep calling. Every day for the past 7. I don't answer.

That "give to the police" BS has been going on for decades. It must work.

Recv'd a call from 205-402-4720; on caller ID, it said "Unknown name"-left no msg.

this is so annoying; They hangup when I asked them who is calling. AT &T didnt help one bit. Really? And why do we pay them so much money every month??? This needs to stop. Residents need protecting too.

that called came on oct. 28 2010

I just received a phone call from this number and googled it. The first 3 digits match Vestavia, but as everyone else has experienced the number is disconnected when you try to call back. This is the third phone call in the last two months. The other calls were from different numbers.

THESE PEOPLE ARE GETTING ON MY DAMN NERVES CALLING MY HOME EVERY NIGHT AND NOT SAYING ANYTHING SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS B.....S. YOU CALL YOUR PHONE COMPANY AND THEY TELL YOU THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS MESS,BUT I'M GOING TO THE D.A OFFICE AND SEE WANT CAN BE DONE. THIS IS SOME BULL.
