Got a call about a half hour ago.  Didn't answer and it only rang once.  My Sentry call blocking device will block all robo calls by forcing the caller to press a key to continue the call.  Robots can't do that so they get disconnected.  Of course, it may have been a live person calling who chose not to press a key and just hung up.  Either way, the call blocker did it's job!!  Best $40 I ever spent!!

Home today doing some painting.  Lots of ladder work.  In the past 3 hours I've already had three nuisance calls, one being from this phone number.  This means having to get off the ladder and see that the caller ID shows (in this case) an Alabama phone number (I am in NC) and then letting the answering machine answer, at which point they hung up.  SOOOOO sick of this %^$#!  I pay for my phone service...who the @#$& do they think they are using my number to harass me with their nonsense?   If they want to call me then they need to pay my phone bill.  And of course, I am on the DNC list.  Which more and more I am starting to believe should be called the "here is a list of active numbers for all of you useless scammers, solicitors, politicians and proselytizers to use freely" list...

I did not recognize this out of state (Alabama) number, so did not answer the call. They did not leave a message on the answering machine. Instead, I added it to my CPR Call Blocker so I won't be bothered any longer.

Robo call trying to sound like a person. Went to my voicemail and I got a few words "this is Nicole. Are you still there?" A human would have known it was voicemail

Alarm company, 'so they say.'
Scammers phoned on 9/24/15 at 4:42 p.m.. I answered...a robot said, 'How's your day. We'll be in your area giving away 21 FREE alarm systems.
I disconnected.

Called back at 5:04 p.m. I didn't realize it was the same number, so again I answered. Same bull.
I disconnected.

These jerks call repeatedly using different numbers.
Although they're annoying, I love screwing with these [***]...Normally, place the phone by my computer speaker, and up the volume..

It rang only once. I will block this number. Thanks everyone. They started to put "Are you there?" question. If you say anything, computer continue talking. If it is from a number I don't know (and I happen to answer), I let them speak first because computer is usually waiting for me to speak. "Are you there?" is cleverly put to make me speak. Anyways, I have more than 70 numbers blocked. Blocking the numbers got these calls down to once every ~2 weeks from 3-4 times a week.

About to buy call blocker.  Any suggestions for a good one?

1-205-477-7899 called me and I missed the call. Called it back immediately  (I enjoy calling them back repeatedly like 45 timed in 15 minutes) and guess what? !? I get a recorded message repeating the number back to me saying that it is temporarily out of order!  They just called me from it!!!! So today the house phone is in my back pocket and I'm determined to get them if they call back!

They probably went home for the day. Monday they should be back.

I use a sentry I got from Amazon for around 55 bux. Works great. If everyone would block these calls we can put them out of biz

Call from McCalla, Alabama today 9/29/15 at 12:40 pm.  Rung through onto the cellphone where it can be blocked.  Sorry I missed their message so I could lead them on until they hung up on me!

The called claimed to be giving away free GE Security systems, and wanted to come and install it tonight at 7 pm. Asked lots of questions about current security system which made me suspicious. The monitoring cost was $39.99 per month after installation. Then he said he'd pay the second month for me if they could come this evening. I said no way and he said how about 8 am tomorrow. I said I wouldn't be available, and he hung up on me. Good thing I have a security system , I guess.
