Caller identified himself as representing Regions Bank, which is also what was displayed on the CallerID.  While we do have accounts with Regions, the caller asked my wife to give him the Routing and Account numbers from one of our checks.  She wisely refused, knowing that CallerID info can easily be hacked to display anything.  I'm convinced that if the caller in fact represented the bank, he'd have already had our account info on his terminal.  BEWARE!!

We do bank with Regions, but I thought it was odd that they were calling since the account is in good standing and it wasn't from their normal number.  I called the bank on the normal number and they told me it was not them but was in fact a phishing scam.  Someone calls, caller ID says Regions Bank and they tell you your check card has been deactivated.  To reactivate, enter your card number followed by the PIN number.  They then have all they need to use your card.

In the last week I have received 4-5 missed calls from this number on my cell including two last night.  They called at 8:40 p.m. then left a voice mail at 8:55 p.m.  The message was a pre-recorded female voice and said something like "answering machine detected.  Please replace this voice file with a customer specific message.  A typical message would include customer's 1-800 number"  Only part of the message was recorded.  It was cut off at the beginning and end.  I see from other posts that this possibly comes from Regions Bank.  I don't do any business with them.

I called the number back (from the same cell phone they called me on).  It is Regions Bank or someone who answered the phone as such.  They were asking for someone who has the same first & last names as my husband (wrong middle initial).  After a short conversation I convinced her that they had the wrong person and that we had never had an account with them and that she was calling my cell phone number.  She stated they would take the number out of their files.  They haven't called since.  I got the impression from her conversation that the call was about an overdrawn account or loan default.

Yeah they call a lot and at odd times and hours..but it is Regions Bank..it's not a scam...and just like me..you have fu*kE* up at least one of your accts...and as far as the automated system..grow up people...all financial institutions of that size use them b/c its too many folks not being responsible w/ your accts..its one thing to not agree w/ policies but be an adult and own up to your poor banking habits...I did..and yes I paid all the damn fees!

I continue to receive harassing calls 4 to 6 times a day 7 days a week from "Regions" for a debt that someone that don't live here. The correct number was given to them. Since they record conversations they need to play the tape back and get this problem fixed.

I have repeatedly gotten calls from this number over this pass week.  When I DO answer, I get an automated voice telling me to hold for an important message from Regions.  Then I get hung up on.  So I called them back today, and the lady told me that it was in regard to my account.  She started asking for my address and I told her that I don't feel comfortable doing that.  She started giving me an attitude and I told her not to ever call me again and hung up.  Whether or not I will get a call from them is to be decided, since that was just five minutes ago.

I've had this number call my cell phone repeatedly over the past two weeks but I haven't answered it. The funny thing was that when I TEXTED the number asking "who is this?" my phone didn't send me a text message back saying that the text couldn't be delivered. That made me think the number was from a cell phone and not a land line. I'm sick of being harassed!
You would think that Regions wouldn't do this to their customers. I think it is a scam, and if it IS Regions doing it I would think they'd have a little respect for people and not call them at 9:00 at night!

Hello, "G" is it?  Would you be so kind as to inform us "folks" how we are "not being responsible adults w/ our accounts" when in fact Mister "G" we have never opened such accounts or had any affiliate relations with REGIONS BANK? I am thinking perhaps we may learn from your gracious confession of irresponsibility  thereby reducing ours in the areas of bouncing of checks or even our VISA ENVY? ( :o -  Did I just say that aloud... I do believe I misplaced my responsible pill when I had my spot of tea this morning ). let me rephrase in a language possible for you to understand in your native tongue.

*** Pleese Mr G... help us irregualr n irrsponsible foke understand them polices with them banks that we dont yuse so we mite be more gooder w/ Rbankin "habbits" like u?  weze all wants to be sum adolts too; THANSK MR. G :)

I received 2 back to back calls-couldn't take them as on phone-called back and was told Regions Bank (which also showed up on Caller ID)-I do not have an account with Regions Bank-He asked for phone number  I am calling from and I did not give to him-I asked him what department this is at Regions and what they do--first he said the call was in regards to my account (which I do not have), then was told it could be that I was being used as a reference for someone opening an account as I am a customer with them (I am not-no account), then he mentioned it may be the wrong number they are calling and asked if my number is new (no-have had it for 7 years), then I am getting ready to hang up and he said that I have actually reached the collections department--told him he called the wrong number as I have never had an account there!
