I also recieved a call from this number and the person on the line was very ignorant and rude. So I just put the phone down.

Didn't answer. If you don't recognize the number, not picking up the phone is the best strategy. The FCC do not call registry is mostly a waste of time.

I answerd the phone there was a momant of silence, then a loud beep ! Then I hear a automated voice saying googbye.

Recived a call from this number and there was a moment of silence and a voice said "suck a d***",and then hung up.

portfolio recovery.  most likely trying to collect an old debt that they legally can't make you pay unless you answer questions  that are being recorded, then reage the debt.

got a call on my cell for the 3rd time today. didn't answer- never leaves a message

The caller said the call was in responce to me looking up insurance info on-line.  When I told him I didn't know what he was talking about...he said: "Have a nice day, Mam" and hung up! I wonder if it's not a debt collector trying to collect an OLD debt.  Oh well...I say Good Luck to them!

This, and several other numbers have been calling me for almost 3 months now because i filled out 2 forms online seeking health insurance QUOTES.... after purchasing the health insurance i wanted, nearly 2 and a half months ago, the calls still come.  At the time of me putting my email on the sites, within 48 hours i had received literally 90 phone calls from people offering me insurance.  i urge you to find a health care provider you like, and call them directly as i did.  When they keep calling, ask for a manager or supervisor immediately and politely ask him to take your number off the list.  As for the ones that just call and hang up right away, it's some glitch in their computer system that makes the automated call, and will most likely happen indefinitely.  Good luck to you all.

have gotten several calls in last week or so from this number never anyone there, if I dial no. I just get a busy signal.  as above post, I did seek insurance quote about 6 months ago.  I will ignore that number from now on, and perchance block it on my phone.

Have received calls from this number today and yesterday, also in the past.  I never answer a call from a number I don't recognize.  It's on my "blocked list".  But very annoying.  I usually keep my phone on "silent" during a work day and check it periodically, return calls from people I know.

This number calls me periodically and when I answer, there is never anyone there.  If you try calling the number back, it is always a busy tone.

Every time I answer they hang up. I have no idea who or what this number is.

I also did not answer, but from what I'm reading it does not sound like a telemarketer. Could it be from a jail?? Like and inmate call or something? Anyone know?
