I get calls but no voicemails from this number.

This number uses deceptive phone calls to contact you. The phone number that show on your caller id is 205-994-7696, but the name that shows is someone else that you have done business with (local hospital, department store, utility company). When you answer an automated voice says they have an emergency phone call for you and wait for an attendant. The attendant that picks up say they are from the Elba collection agency and you have a debt to settle for$3,000. When I asked what debt they said they represent numerous companies and can not name a particular one. The debt was supposedly from 2001(are you kidding me). They wanted for me to give my banking info to settle this debt. This is obviously a scam. This website is great in helping us to get the word out on these scammers. The government needs to support or promote sites like 800notes.com. They are more effective than the do not call list.

This caller called my work, and was a recording that said hold for a very important message.  I held, then "very rude" woman came on line and I asked who they were?  She said I have to verify information first.  I verified, she never ever explained what "it" was, jus that it was a supposed debt, never ever explained who the so-called company was I owed debt to.  Very, very rude, talked to me like I was an idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Called my work pretending to be a hospital. They need to crack down on these shady companies.

I, too, get calls from this number (every day!) and they never leave a message!  The caller ID says Renton and this number.

This outfit uses more than one phone number to cloak itself, sometimes says "Renton," sometimes says "unavailable." It's an automated message of a woman with a British accent saying that "it is very important that I speak to Thomas V. Adams." I've never known a Thomas V. Adams. We turned the ringers off all the phones of our land lines, since the Do Not Call Registry is a joke.

Received a call from this same number (205) 994-7696). Caller ID says. "RENTON." No message left (of course) but I receive calls from people like this all the time, often saying that I either owe an unidentified debt collector or there will be "legal papers served" by the end of the day unless I call some 800 number to take care of this matter. I wish I could find out where these individuals are so I could personally put them out of business! Do Not Call List is another government waste of time and money. Imagine that...

Despite Numerous requests for these idiots to cease and desist in calling my place of business for people unknown to me they persist. I have called this number back and after listening to several pre-recorded messages got someone on the line and politely informed them to "cease and desist in calling this phone number, which is a business number and to do so immediately. Further, that I will not allow for 2 weeks to remove my number but will immediately forward a written complaint to the Attorney General's office in which I am already aware several complaints have been made involving this number (205) 994-7696 (Convergent Resolutions). It is irrelevant who I am or who you wish to speak with...you have been warned and the law is clear on this matter. To all reading this please do not sit still for these idiots who are less then legitimate and who violate your rights in an effort to make a fee on some outdated and often times even Bankruptcy precluded debt collection. Do not even indulge these people. In my case there is no debt or person by such name. However, if this is not the original creditor, to include if this debt is several years old than do not discuss the debt, do not disclose who you are and most certainly do not agree to even a penny (1 cent) for to do so could start the time tolling all over which is to say you could resurrect a debt and have to pay which otherwise the statue of limitations coupled with the fact that they're not the original creditor would preclude them from any successful legal remedy much less collection. Stand up to these idiots and learn your legal rights!!!

Received  several calls over few weeks on my Skype number. Just happen to sitting in front of the computer and answered the call. As everyone states it is a womanly voice on a pre-recorded message asking me to hold. Finally a lady comes on saying that she is from some agency and she wants to verify my name, ssn, and address before she could disclose anything to me. She then slipped up and said I owe a debt from some early 2000 year. I told her she was crazy and that that mess was paid before me being able to close on my house in the early 2000's. So you know she hung up me since I wouldn't give her what she wanted. And that is cool with me, I don't have to answer skype unless I feel like it. little do they know because it has been paid off it has not hit my credit report or stopped me buying another house, so who cares what they have or how they got it.

I just received a message on my answering machine from this number, caller ID shows "Renton". I always google numbers that I do not recognize which led me to this page. These people are outlaws and should be treated as such. I couldn't even understand what the message said but it was definitely a pre recorded message. We owe no debts whatsoever and I can assure you, would NEVER give my info over the phone to these jackholes nor would I call a number to pay a debt under the name of someone other than myself nor to a company I'd never heard of. Luckily, I have a fantastic phone which allows me to block numbers, preventing me from ever hearing it ring. Sorry scammers, wrong house.
