- Marie| 3 repliesGot a call from this number his morning looking for an Alyssa Venalova. Have never heard of this person but they claimed to be from the IRS criminal investigations department. I'm pretty sure this is a scam the person sounded Indian and there was a lot of background noise.

206-201-0043 Washington number! These people are Low Life's that have nothing better to do. - kala| 1 replyThank god I found these post. Been getting the same number calling me and I'm from hawaii. Next time they call I'll harass them.
- Nicole| 1 replyI kept getting calls from this number. They would claim they are from the IRS, and that I over $1,500 (which I don't). He said that the IRS doesn't call people unless they don't reply to the mail that was sent to them that they owe the IRS. I am more than angry, I am sick of the calls. I told them to send me another notice in the mail and not to expect anything out of me (I am a single mother, finishing school, doing therapy three times a week with my two year old daughter). ENOUGH!

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. - loko replies to kalaYes, they did call me too but I didn't belive it, so I called the police department askin about this incident and they said that is a scam. So after I was done talking with the person from the police department. I called those f...rs back and I was talking alot of smack to them. Belive me this people have no clue with who they are messing with. That's IRS MAN.... THAT THING IS SERIOUS
- Laura P. replies to Jewelia Mora| 1 replyI got a call today as well! (12/10/14) I missed it and they left a voicemail. There was a lot of background noise and it sounded like someone with an Indian accent but then it kept fluctuating! So sketch! The accent wasn't even consistent. Everyone's is telling me it's a scam. There is NO way I owe the IRS anything! This is ridiculous.
- ParistonThey just called me claiming that they were from the "US education department of the IRS". They were asking for my sister who is merely a freshman in high school. They claimed it was a legal matter and that it was sensitive. They left a specific name to ask for and left the number to call back. Like what most people said, the man had an "Indian" accent and there was a lot of background noise.
- Jody| 1 replyI've been applying for jobs online and now I'm getting these calls be aware of job websites.
- d. replies to JodySame thing happened to me. And it always appears to be the same person calling from furthur education, that I applied to a loan, some other one and now this one.
- jo| 1 replyThis Indian guy just called me stating I owed the IRS $5,000 from 2004-2007 in which I was still a Minot hung up on me when he said I was arguing and when I call back the same man answers telling me its from 2009-2013 and if I didn't pay now the police will be notified to arrest me, I called the IRS actual number and they had no records of even trying to contact me this caller is ridiculous and needs to find a real job.

RS does not file lawsuits. Tax disputes are civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and all contacts are initiated by US mail. - CWG40 replies to Laura P.Total scam. Originates in either India or Pakistan.

Caller said they were from the IRS. Unlikely. Just saw a report on TV last night about this scam. The "IRS" wants you to pay your fine with VISA cards. Yeah right! Don't fall for this scam.
