Law suit threat from the IRS

There is a widespread IRS or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both Canadian and USA residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

voice mail saying they are going to sue us. When we called the "IRS" the clown on the phone said they were coming to arrest me right now! I told him I will be outside waiting for them! The clown was an Indian guy named "Frank Martin Badge number 543296. When I told him he was full of it- it actually told me "to go F%^& myself" which my reply was.. Yep- you are definitely part of the IRS.

"Hello.  We have been trying to reach you.  This call is officially and final notice from IRS Internal Revenue Service.  The reason of this call is to inform you the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you.  To get more information about this case file please call immediately on our department number 206 201 2803."

I got a message on my tape stating: "Hello.  We have been trying to reach you.  This call is the final notice from IRS Internal Revenue Service.  The reason of this call is to inform you the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you.  To get more information about this case file please call immediately on our department number 206 201 2803." My caller ID showed the call came from 631-581-9211 today 2/16 @ 11:22 am EST.

I received an automated message that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against us and to call (206) 201-2803.  My caller ID showed the call came from (206) 708-2849.  I called that number and it has been disconnected all in the matter of 1 hour!  I called the (206) 201-2803 number but no one  answered.

Received same "IRS" lawsuit call mentioned above. The guy wanted to know if I had a KISS for him! I asked repeatedly if he worked for the Internal Revenue Service, then asked to speak to someone else and his reply was "F*** you, B****!"
Stupidly, I had neglected to google the number before I returned the call. DO NOT return the call.

Got Call Today 206-201-2803

IRS filing a law suit. Claiming between 2008-2013 audit was performed missing 3,099.68 not filed for.

Telling me you can pay $500 now go to bank get cash out. Was willing to stay on hold while I do that.

Gave me case number as well DF263252FL.

IRS law suit gave this number to call back

Said suing us and gave us the same# they gave everyone else. We did not return call.

Got phone call from "unavailable" on caller ID.  Man left message, had foreign accent.  Said he was calling from Criminal Investigation Unit of IRS, and they are going to file a lawsuit against us.  Our assets may be seized.  Gave #206-201-2091 to call back.  This is a SCAM!! Months ago, got a taped message (really bogus), a woman's voice, that the IRS was going to file suit against us. She gave a 202 area code # to call.  I filed a complaint with the Inspector General of the Treasury Dept.  They let you make a code#, and advise that if anyone legit is calling from IRS (which they don't do; they send a letter) they will mention this 5 digit code.  I urge everyone to file a report with the Treasury Dept. Inspector General.  These scammers are surely going to hell!!

Have received multiple calls from 206-201-2303.  Automated female voice stating I had to call immediately regarding a claim.  Never called back as I know it's a scam.  The message does not identify who the agency is that is calling.

My husband had the EXACT conversation with the same threats.

Left message.  Same as above.  Knew it was a scam.

I received a call from a 202 number and the guy told me to call the 206 number to claim my free government grant. So this is all a scam. Smh

For me, 12-9-15, this was the 'CALLBACK' number, 206-201-2803 ext 147, and the number that called me was 202-243-0000.  I called back and asked for Janet Miller.  She said I had to pay $200 to get my fed grant for $8000. Sounds like a scam. I'll watch and read until someone else says that its for sure, then I will double and triple check.  Oh, and I only have until Christmas, she said.

JB, I have not received a call from 206-201-2803 but it is a classic 'phishing' scam. Any time a party calls you to ask for money in order to receive a greater amount of money, it plays on a person's hope that they'll get a greater return on their money. They are ALWAYS fraudulent!

Other examples of phishing scams are a recording telling you that your credit card has been deactivated and to call a specific number to reactivate your card. These are all ploys to get you to give up your credit card number (which they never knew in the first place), as well as your personal information like your name and Social Security number. If they get these key pieces of personal information along with your address (which they may already have), it is often enough to open new credit cards or lines of credit in your name and you won't find out about it until you hear from creditors trying to collect on credit charges to these new accounts.

Don't fall for it. Like the old saying goes, "If it's too good to be true, it probably is."

just received a call and when I laughed when I realized he was from out of the country he told me "why you laughing, Mother F&$ker!"  what a nice call to receive in the morning.  I wished him a Merry Christmas and hung up.
