Did not get a call. This seems to be a number for an alleged shipping company in Seattle. However the web site for this company is in Australia.
The listed address does not seem to exist(2324 88th Avenue, Seattle 98116)- I think it is a work at home scam. They also list a fax number of 206-426-2509.

I am supposedly working for this company "mountaineers shipping enterprises".  They just sent me a check for 2,400 and they want me to use it to ship laptops which they will send me.  Don't worry, I haven't cashed the check or given them any personal info but I am almost positive that this is a very well orchestrated scam.  someone help me out here. Got any info on "Mountaineers Shipping Enterprises" or that they ship computers from PC Connection?

I also received a check for 2400 dollars and told to do the same. I did not cash the check but I intervened and contact the bank it was drawn on and also the company in which the check was written. The company is in New Hampshire and the bank is Rhode Island. I called the company in Merrimack, NH which is called PC Connection, Inc zip code 03054 (206)202-3475 and Robin, accounts recievable, to varify if the checkm is good. I also faxed her a copy of the check. I didn't tell her that I was going to send her a copy of the address that the Fed Ex had. Neither have I heard from her and her voice mail keeps coming on. I strongly believe that this company is a scam.

I got a job offer from the same company but they arent asking me to use any of the 2,500 to mail anything so what exactly is the scam? Did they send you the packages you are supposed to open and reship? If so was there a seperate check for that? You know we should all remember if it sounds too good to be true "It is" Oh well! By the way I posted an ad on craigs list for work also. If anybody knows anymore about this scam please fill me in. Suzanne at tme2tpe@yahoo.com

Well folks My friend and I called PC Connections and they told us that they do NOT use out side shippers. They only use UPS and such shippers.
They also said that they have had several froudulant checks with thier name on it, (PC Connections) with a seattle address reported to them.
Some how this Mountaineers shipping is not shipping for PC C.
    Prossed with caution.

One of the nearly certain signs of a scam biz = when the server is a free one. Any self respecting biz (but, alas, plenty of scam ones too) has its own domain that gives (duh) its name. Example? People who work for Amazon have email addys @amazon.com

Stay away from the yahoo, hotmail, gmail et al. "business" crowd. It's very very risky. Besides, any good biz will have some score from a biz-monitoring Co: BBB, etc. If there's none, beware, and scoot.

No, from what I've read from all the posters, this isn't a "proceed with caution" situation. This is a "Stop and make a U-Turn ASAP" situation.

This scam is not new. It was actually an old mail scam that has evolved to this. First of all, no company is going to pay you $2000 a month to process checks when they can hire a pay-role company to do it for next to nothing. Secondly no legit company is going to have you using your own bank account to process accounts.

What a scam...especially interesting since I already run a payroll company and wouldn't even think of paying anyone that much money just to print checks.  Don't reply if you received this e-mail
