Tried getting information by offering to pay for a truck placed on craigslist. The person even offered to pick the truck up after the check was cashed. No one buys a car without looking at it. How stupid do these people think we are. If they are still using the same number, how are they still trying to scam people? He didn't call me, he emailed me his number to call him and leave a message. I didn't do it, I knew it was a scam and then I googled his number

yah i just posted my car on CL and i got the same person contacting me...Some people just need to get a life.....

here is what he wrote to me...

"How are you doing today?I want to buy the above item but would love to
see recent pictures .The condition of the item as described on the
site is okay .Email back asap to arrange pick up.

i just got that exact same email regarding my 2500 mirror.  when i got the email, i got a sick feeling in my stomach.  thats why i put his number in the computer to check it out.  IVE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE.  thank god for sites like this that can protect the consumer.

yeah i just got an email from this person as well saying they want ti but they are going to hawaii and will get it on the way back ! come on guy, seriously?

Same scammer here saying he was going to Hawaii.  I asked him to send me his home phone.  If he sends I will forward to police.

I received the same email from him for two different posts that I have on Craigs List.  
I don't know what the phone number is, does it charge you if you call that number?

Got the same exact thing.  Smelled funny from the first word.  I love to string these losers along though...

i got the email for a posting on craigslist and i get a lot like it any email address that is gmail.com be advised that most scamers use a gmail address just email them and tell them cash only and they bug out

Yeah I got it too... felt weird so I looked it up... And I am glad I did.

Hi, I got the same message for my CL listing as well in MN (his 206 area code is in WA if I recall, didn't make sense to me). Donald told me he was going to Hawaii for his honeymoon and said he would pay by check, and then send someone to pick it up, his movers. I tried to be nice and said good luck on your honeymoon. Thanks for posting info.

address) please not P.O BOX address because i want the payment to get

He has changed names.
I agree with the above poster as being skeptical of gmail responses as scammers.

Got the same message and phone number from my Craigslist posting, but now his name is Ernie Maxwell

same thing today don did not call him back. thanks

Just wanted to let everyone know that this person is still out there because he just contacted me. Thanks everyone for these postings because you validated MY suspicions.

I got the same email for my motorcycle, now the name is ernie as well.  Scammer - no doubt.
